Protective container for bat

Abstract

A protective container for bats that is operable to inhibit damage to the surface of baseball and softball bats and further provide temperature protection for the bats. The present invention includes a body wherein the body is manufactured from neoprene in a preferred embodiment. The body is comprised of a first portion and a second portion and includes an interior volume configured to receive and retain a bat therein. The second portion of the body is hingedly coupled to the first portion and is movable between an open and closed position providing access to the interior volume of the body. The first portion includes a wall forming the cylindrical shape thereof. An alternative embodiment of the present invention includes two identically constructed bodies having a connection member integrally formed therewith and is configured to receive and store two bats.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A protective container for bats wherein the protective container comprises:
 a body, said body being elongated in form, said body having a first end and a second end, said body being cylindrical in shape having a wall, said body having a first portion and a second portion, said second portion being hingedly coupled to said first portion proximate said first end of said body, said second portion being movable between a closed position and an open position, said second portion providing access to an interior volume of said body in said open position;   a fastener, said fastener having a section on said first portion and said second portion of said body, said fastener configured to facilitate movement of said second portion between said open position and said closed position.   
     
     
         2 . The protective container for bats as recited in  claim 1 , wherein said body is manufactured from neoprene. 
     
     
         3 . The protective container for bats as recited in  claim 2 , wherein said body is manufactured in a first diameter and a second diameter. 
     
     
         4 . The protective container for bats as recited in  claim 3 , and further including an indicia area, said indicia area being present on an outer surface of said wall of said body. 
     
     
         5 . A protective container for bats wherein the protective container comprises:
 a first body, said first body being elongated in form, said first body having a first end and a second end, said first body being cylindrical in shape having a wall, said first body having a first portion and a second portion, said second portion being hingedly coupled to said first portion proximate said first end of said first body, said second portion being movable between a closed position and an open position, said second portion providing access to an interior volume of said first body in said open position;   a second body, said second body being elongated in form, said second body having a first end and a second end, said second body being cylindrical in shape having a wall, said second body having a first portion and a second portion, said second portion of said second body being hingedly coupled to said first portion of said second body proximate said first end of said second body, said second portion of said second body being movable between a closed position and an open position, said second portion of said second body providing access to an interior volume of said second body in said open position; and   a connection member, said connection member being intermediate said first body and said second body, said connection member being planar in manner, said connection member being integrally formed with said first body and said second body.   
     
     
         6 . The protective container for bats as recited in  claim 5 , wherein said first body includes a first fastener, said first fastener of said first body having a section on said first portion and said second portion of said first body, said first fastener configured to facilitate movement of said second portion of said first body between said open position and said closed position.

The protective container for bats as recited in  claim 5 , wherein said second body includes a second fastener, said second fastener of said second body having a section on said first portion and said second portion of said second body, said second fastener configured to facilitate movement of said second portion of said second body between said open position and said closed position.
