Wearable cardioverter defibrillator component assembly verification
Abstract
A wearable cardiac device for providing feedback during device wear includes a garment, tags disposed on the garment, and electrodes configured to facilitate sensing electrical signals associated with cardiac activity of the patient and/or delivering therapeutic pulses to the patient. Each electrode is configured for assembly into the garment in a respective predetermined position. At least one respective electrode includes respective local position feedback circuitry. Each respective local position feedback circuitry includes a position verification sensor configured to sense one or more tags and one or more local position feedback indicators locally disposed on the respective electrode and configured to provide a human-discernable feedback alert indicating whether the respective electrode is assembled into the garment in the respective predetermined position. The position verification sensor is further configured to activate the one or more local position feedback indicators based on whether the position verification sensor senses the one or more tags.

115 . The wearable cardiac device of claim 110 , wherein the one or more local assembly feedback indicators comprise one or more visual indicators.
116 . The wearable cardiac device of claim 115 , wherein the one or more visual indicators comprise one or more LEDs configured to light up to provide the human-discernable feedback alert indicating whether the respective electrode is assembled into the garment in the respective predetermined position.
117 . The wearable cardiac device of claim 115 , wherein the one or more visual indicators comprise one or more colored indicators configured to light up to provide the human-discernable feedback alert indicating whether the respective electrode is assembled into the garment in the respective predetermined position.
118 . The wearable cardiac device of claim 117 , wherein the one or more visual indicators comprise a first colored indicator configured to light up when the respective electrode is assembled into the garment in the respective predetermined position; and
a second colored indicator configured to light up when the respective electrode is not assembled into the garment in the respective predetermined position.
119 . The wearable cardiac device of claim 110 , wherein the one or more local position feedback indicators comprise one or more auditory indicators.
120 . The wearable cardiac device of claim 119 , wherein the one or more auditory indicators comprise a speaker configured to emit a sound to provide the human-discernable feedback alert indicating whether the respective electrode is assembled into the garment in the respective predetermined position.
121 . The wearable cardiac device of claim 110 , wherein the one or more local position feedback indicators comprise one or more tactile indicators.
122 . The wearable cardiac device of claim 121 , wherein the one or more tactile indicators comprise a buzzer configured to vibrate to provide the human-discernable feedback alert indicating whether the respective electrode is assembled into the garment in the respective predetermined position.
123 . The wearable cardiac device of claim 110 , wherein the plurality of electrodes comprises
at least one sensing electrode configured to sense the electrical signals associated with the cardiac activity of the patient; and at least one therapeutic electrode configured to deliver the one or more therapeutic pulses to the patient.
