Bed frame with functional accessories and connectors

Abstract

A bed frame including a headboard and a side module. The side module attaches to a sidewall of the headboard and is in electrical communication with the headboard. One or more functional features are disposed on the side module. A bed frame including a headboard and a side module. The side module attaches to a sidewall of the headboard and is in electrical communication with the headboard. One or more functional features are disposed on the side module.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A bed frame, comprising
 a headboard comprising a headboard sidewall and a top surface;   a side module attached to the headboard sidewall; and   one or more functional features disposed on the side module,   wherein the side module is in electrical communication with the headboard.   
     
     
         2 . The bed frame of  claim 1 , further comprising a top board attached to the top surface of the headboard, the top board including a top board sidewall, wherein the side module is further attached to the top board sidewall. 
     
     
         3 . The bed frame of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the side module further comprises a fold-down arm, wherein the fold-down arm is moveable between a first position and a second position;   in the first position, the fold-down arm is concealed in the side module; and   in the second position, the fold-down arm is extended so a top surface of the fold-down arm is level with the top surface of the headboard.   
     
     
         4 . The bed frame of  claim 3 , wherein:
 the fold-down arm includes the one or more functional features;   the one or more functional features are concealed in the first position; and   the one or more functional features are accessible in the second position.   
     
     
         5 . The bed frame of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a first sideboard extending from the headboard;   a second sideboard extending from the headboard; and   a footboard connected to the first sideboard and the second sideboard.   
     
     
         6 . The bed frame of  claim 5 , wherein a side module inner surface abuts the first sideboard and extends above a first sideboard top surface. 
     
     
         7 . The bed frame of  claim 5 , wherein the one or more functional features are disposed on the side module inner surface at a vertical position above a first sideboard top surface. 
     
     
         8 . The bed frame of  claim 1 , further comprising a pedestal base, wherein the pedestal base is configured to support the headboard above a floor. 
     
     
         9 . The bed frame of  claim 8 , wherein a bottom surface of the side module extends to the floor. 
     
     
         10 . The bed frame of  claim 8 , wherein a bottom surface of the side module is above the floor and level with a bottom surface of the headboard. 
     
     
         11 . The bed frame of  claim 5 , further comprising:
 a headrest including a mounting mechanism; and   a plurality of mounting tracks, wherein each mounting track is disposed on one or more of an inner surface of each of the headboard, the first sideboard, the second sideboard, and the footboard,   wherein the headrest moveably attaches to the mounting track with the mounting mechanism.   
     
     
         12 . The bed frame of  claim 1 , further comprising a first sideboard and a second sideboard, the first sideboard having a first top surface and the second sideboard having a second top surface, each of the first sideboard and second sideboard extending from the headboard, wherein the headboard top surface, first top surface, and second top surface are substantially level with each other. 
     
     
         13 . The bed frame of  claim 12 , further comprising a mattress positioned between the first sideboard and the second sideboard, wherein a top surface of the mattress is substantially level with or extends above the first and second top surfaces.
