Firearm suppression system
Abstract
A firearm suppression system includes a housing, a muzzle adapter, an end cap, and a core. The housing includes a first aperture at a first end and a second aperture at a second end. An inner compartment may be interposed between the first aperture and the second aperture. The inner compartment may be configured to receive the core. The muzzle adapter may be threadably coupled near the first end of the housing, and the end cap may be threadably coupled to the second end of the housing. The core may be removably attachable to the housing and positioned within the inner compartment of the housing. Between an outer surface of the core and the inner surface of the housing may be a channel that equalizes pressure. The outer surface of the core may comprise a plurality of apertures that lead to baffles.

1 . A firearm suppression system comprising:
a housing comprising a first end and a second end, the housing comprising:
a first aperture at the first end,
a second aperture at the second end;
an inner compartment interposed between the first aperture and the second aperture, the inner compartment being substantially the same circumference from the first end to the second end; and
a core positionable in the inner compartment of the housing, the core comprising primary baffles and secondary baffles.
2 . The firearm suppression system of claim 1 , wherein the core is printed from a three-dimensional printer.
3 . The firearm suppression system of claim 1 , wherein the core is removably attachable to the housing.
4 . The firearm suppression system of claim 3 , wherein the core fastens to the housing via a fastener.
5 . The firearm suppression system of claim 1 , further comprising a channel between an inner surface of the housing and an outer surface of the core, the channel circumscribes the outer surface of the core and equalizes pressure that begins at the first end of the housing and terminates at the second end of the housing.
6 . The firearm suppression system of claim 1 , wherein the core comprises a plurality of core apertures on an outer surface that allow gas passing from a projectile and cartridge to pass to a channel between an inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the core.
7 . The firearm suppression system of claim 6 , wherein each of the plurality of core apertures are substantially hexagonal in shape.
8 . The firearm suppression system of claim 1 , wherein each primary baffle is coupled to one secondary baffle.
9 . The firearm suppression system of claim 1 , wherein the secondary baffles mate with and are fastened to the primary baffles at a connection point.
10 . The firearm suppression system of claim 1 , wherein both the primary baffles and the secondary baffles are generally conically shaped and coupled at a connection point, where the secondary baffles begin to taper from the connection point as the secondary baffles move towards a front of the core.
11 . The firearm suppression system of claim 1 , wherein the primary baffles are extruded inward.
12 . The firearm suppression system of claim 1 , wherein the core includes an end cap baffle proximate a front of the core, the end cap baffle comprising baffle apertures that function to remove pressure.
13 . The firearm suppression system of claim 1 , wherein the secondary baffles comprise one or more second baffle apertures that receive and the one or more secondary baffles temporarily hold gasses from a fired projectile.
14 . A firearm suppression system comprising:
a housing comprising a first end and a second end, the housing comprising:
a first aperture at the first end,
a second aperture at the second end;
an inner compartment interposed between the first aperture and the second aperture, the inner compartment being substantially the same circumference from the first end to the second end;
one or more cores removably attachable to the housing and positioned therein, the one or more cores comprising:
a plurality of core apertures,
one or more baffles positioned within the one or more cores, and
a projectile aperture.
15 . The firearm suppression system of claim 14 , wherein each of the one or more cores are for different calibers.
16 . The firearm suppression system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more cores are removed and attached to the housing based on a user's desired caliber.
17 . A firearm core comprising:
a plurality of core apertures on an outer surface of the core; a projectile aperture; one or more primary baffles; one or more secondary baffles that are coupled to the one or more primary baffles, the one or more secondary baffles comprising second baffle apertures; and wherein the second baffle apertures receive gasses from a fired projectile.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
