Claims

Abstract

A press molded product is provided. The press molded product includes a top plate, a vertical wall, and a flange. The flange is a plate-like portion that extends from the vertical wall in a direction intersecting the vertical wall and is situated to surround the top plate in a plan view perpendicular to the top plate. The flange includes a reinforcing member that has a plate thickness greater than a plate thickness of the top plate and/or has a strength greater than a strength of the top plate and that has a length. An edge of the reinforcing member on a side of the top plate extends roughly parallel to a ridgeline between the vertical wall and the flange.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A press molded product comprising:
 a top plate;   a vertical wall; and   a flange,   the vertical wall being a plate-like portion that stands from an end of the top plate so as to surround the top plate,   the flange being a plate-like portion that extends from the vertical wall in a direction intersecting the vertical wall and being situated to surround the top plate in a plan view perpendicular to the top plate,   the flange including a reinforcing member that has a plate thickness greater than a plate thickness of the top plate and/or has a strength greater than a strength of the top plate and that has a length, and   an edge of the reinforcing member on a side of the top plate extending roughly parallel to a ridgeline between the vertical wall and the flange.   
     
     
         2 . The press molded product according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein a plate thickness of the reinforcing member is greater than a plate thickness of the top plate.   
     
     
         3 . The press molded product according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein a strength of the reinforcing member is greater than a strength of the top plate.   
     
     
         4 . A method for manufacturing a molded product in which a blank is pressed to obtain the molded product, the method comprising:
 situating the blank between a first metallic mold and a second metallic mold arranged apart from each other; and   forming the molded product including a top plate, a vertical wall, and a flange by pressing the blank with the first metallic mold and the second metallic mold by bringing the first metallic mold and the second metallic mold close to each other,   the blank being a steel plate that includes a first steel plate, and a reinforcing member having a plate thickness greater than a plate thickness of the first steel plate and/or having a strength greater than a strength of the first steel plate,   the vertical wall being a plate-like portion that stands from an end of the top plate so as to surround the top plate;   the flange being a plate-like portion that extends from the vertical wall in a direction intersecting the vertical wall and is situated to surround the top plate in a plan view perpendicular to the top plate,   the blank including a top plate corresponding portion that represents a portion corresponding to the top plate, a vertical wall corresponding portion that represents a portion corresponding to the vertical wall, and a flange corresponding portion that represents a portion corresponding to the flange,   the top plate corresponding portion being situated in the first steel plate,   the reinforcing member being a portion having a length and situated in the flange corresponding portion,   in the molded product, an edge of the reinforcing member on a side of the top plate extending roughly parallel to the ridgeline between the vertical wall and the flange, and   an angle formed by the edge of the reinforcing member on the side of the top plate and the ridgeline in the molded product being smaller than an angle formed by an edge of the reinforcing member on a side of the top plate corresponding portion and a boundary between the vertical wall corresponding portion and the flange corresponding portion in the blank.   
     
     
         5 . The method for manufacturing a molded product according to  claim 4 ,
 wherein, in a plan view perpendicular to a direction of plate thickness of the blank, the top plate corresponding portion is situated in a portion of a first side of the blank including an end portion of the blank on the first side, and   wherein the edge of the reinforcing member on the side of the top plate corresponding portion extends from an end portion of the blank on a second side, which is situated opposite from the end portion of the first side, towards the first side so as to avoid the top plate corresponding portion.   
     
     
         6 . The method for manufacturing the molded product according to  claim 4 ,
 wherein the blank is a tailored blank that is obtained by joining the first steel plate and a second steel plate, which has a plate thickness greater than the plate thickness of the first steel plate and/or has a strength greater than the strength of the first steel plate, by welding,   wherein the reinforcing member is the second steel plate, and   wherein, on the edge of the reinforcing member on the side of the top plate corresponding portion, a welding line is formed, the welding line being a portion in which an end surface of the first steel plate and an end surface of the reinforcing member are welded to each other.
