Abstract

This invention is designed to create a drawer that has the ability to be easily broken down into a flat or neat flat stack. The most difficult about shipping furniture is that the drawers do not condense, filling much more space than necessary. With the methods described in this patent, one can create a drawer that can easily be compacted to a fraction of the assembled size and can be assembled without any specialized tools. This will also help with minimizing shipping space as well as shipping costs. This invention can be used for dressers, desks, toolboxes, nightstands, organizers, residential, or industrial furniture, and many more applications.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A solid drawer base that supports the entire drawer that slides by mechanical means and can have an opening or no opening which can be made of honeycomb core, sandwich core, or Sing Core. 
     
     
         2 . In accordance with  claim 1 , a drawer front can be fastened to the leading edge of the base panel with mechanical fasteners. 
     
     
         3 . In accordance with  claim 2 , the drawer front can be fastened to the base panel using hinges to fold for flat pack applications. 
     
     
         4 . In accordance with  claim 3 , the hinges can be 90 degrees to the base or parallel with the base. 
     
     
         5 . In accordance with  claim 2 , the drawer front can extend past the base of the drawer to hide the hinging hardware or the sliding hardware. 
     
     
         6 . In accordance with  claim 1 , at least one of the vertical sides, front, or back of the drawer can be made of honeycomb core, sandwich core, or Sing Core. 
     
     
         7 . In accordance with  claim 1 , sliding hardware, which could be conventional hardware, small dimensional lumber, or other sliding mechanisms, can be fastened to the side, top, or bottom of the base panel. 
     
     
         8 . In accordance with  claim 4 , the gussets can be staggered to allow the drawer assemblies to be nested for easy storage. 
     
     
         9 . In accordance with  claim 1 , the front and back walls of the drawer could be fastened with hinges to fold for easy storage or shipment. 
     
     
         10 . In accordance with  claim 1 , the drawer's side walls can be in at least two sections and joined by hinges and the side walls can be folded for flat-pack applications. 
     
     
         11 . In accordance with  claim 1 , the drawer side walls, front, and back walls can all be joined by hinges to be able to collapse into a flat structure. 
     
     
         12 . In accordance with  claim 1 , the drawer base panel can have an opening in the center and can be fastened to the top of the drawer front to create a drawer that utilizes hanging bins, baskets, or other hanging containers. 
     
     
         13 . In accordance with  claim 1 , the box inside of the drawer can be rigid or can be soft material and temporarily held in place with hook and loop fasteners, magnetic fasteners, or mechanical fasteners. 
     
     
         14 . In accordance with  claim 1 , the storage box can be fastened permanently or temporarily on top of the drawer base.
