Methods and apparatus for aiding golfer gameplay

Abstract

Methods and apparatus for aiding golfer gameplay are disclosed. Embodiments may involve a heated cover (2) for a golf bag (201). Golf club heads (202) may be received within an inner warmth area or areas (24) of the cover (2), and golf balls (224) may be received within an inner warmth area or areas (24) of one or more pouches (6) (20). Processed golf round data (216) may be utilized by a golf gameplay aid (223), which in some embodiments may be one or more thermostats (214). Thermostats (214) may raise, lower, or otherwise regulate the temperature in one or more inner warmth areas (24) by controlling one or more heat sources (204). Golf equipment may be heated to achieve specific, desirable performance characteristics to aid golfer gameplay.

         81 . A heated cover configured to enclose an open top end of a golf bag, the cover comprising:
 a body with an open body bottom end, the body defining an inner warmth area, the inner warmth area being configured to receive the protruding head of one or more golf clubs therein when the open bottom end is received over the golf bag open top end;   a heat source, the heat source being configured to supply heat to the inner warmth area when in operation; and   a power source, the power source being operatively coupled to the heat source.   
     
     
         82 . The heated cover of  claim 81 , further including a heat seal proximate the open bottom end. 
     
     
         83 . The heated cover of  claim 82 , wherein the heat seal is adjustable and comprises at least one of hook and loop material, a strap, a drawstring, an elastic band, a magnet, and a snap. 
     
     
         84 . The heated cover of  claim 83 , wherein the heat seal includes an easy secure clip. 
     
     
         85 . The heated cover of  claim 81 , wherein the body is one or more of insulated and waterproof. 
     
     
         86 . The heated cover of  claim 81 , wherein a top end of the body includes a closure system configured to allow access to the inner warmth area. 
     
     
         87 . The heated cover of  claim 86 , wherein the closure system includes one or more of a zipper, hook and loop material, a snap, and a magnet. 
     
     
         88 . The heated cover of  claim 81 , wherein the heat source is one or more of resistance wire-based, ceramic-based, semiconductor-based, resistive thick film based, PTC polymer-based, chemical-based, or liquid-based. 
     
     
         89 . The heated cover of  claim 88 , wherein the heat source further includes a blower. 
     
     
         90 . The heated cover of  claim 81 , wherein the power source comprises one or more batteries. 
     
     
         91 . The heated cover of  claim 90 , wherein the power source includes a USB connector. 
     
     
         92 . The heated cover of  claim 81 , further comprising at least one golf ball pouch located in the inner warmth area configured to contain at least one golf ball. 
     
     
         93 . The heated cover of  claim 92 , further comprising a second heat source configured to supply heat to the golf ball pouch. 
     
     
         94 . The heated cover of  claim 81 , further comprising a thermostat operatively coupled with the heating source. 
     
     
         95 . The heated cover of  claim 81 , further comprising a temperature sensor, and a data processor, the temperature sensor and data processor being operatively coupled to the heating source. 
     
     
         96 . In combination, the heated cover of  claim 81  and the golf bag, the heated cover being received over and secured to the golf bag. 
     
     
         97 . The combination of claim  97 , further comprising one or more golf clubs received in the golf bag. 
     
     
         98 . A heated cover configured to enclose an open top end of a golf bag, the cover comprising:
 a body with an open body bottom end, the body defining an inner warmth area, the inner warmth area being configured to receive the protruding head of one or more golf clubs therein when the open bottom end is received over the golf bag open top end;   a heat seal proximate the open bottom end;   a heat source, the heat source being configured to supply heat to the inner warmth area when in operation, the heating source including a blower; and   a power source comprising one or more batteries, the batteries being operatively coupled to the heat source.   
     
     
         99 . The heated cover of  claim 98 , wherein the heat seal is adjustable and comprises at least one of hook and loop material, a strap, a drawstring, an elastic band, a magnet, and a snap. 
     
     
         100 . The heated cover of  claim 99 , wherein a top end of the body includes a closure system configured to allow access to the inner warmth area.
