Protective Crash Pad

Abstract

This invention is a protective crash pad and a protective crash pad system. The protective crash pad is constructed with inflatable materials comprising a first layer of fabric, a second layer of fabric, and a plurality of elongated materials connecting the layers. The protective crash pad can be deflated, enabling it to be folded or rolled into a compact bundle for easier carrying into rural terrains. The protective crash pad system includes multiple pads, each with inflatable materials and a detachable fastening mechanism for joining them.

I claim as my invention: 
     
         1 . A protective crash pad comprising: an inflatable material comprising at least a first layer of fabric and a second layer of fabric; wherein the first layer of fabric is connected to the second layer of fabric by a plurality of elongated materials. 
     
     
         2 . The protective crash pad of  claim 1 , wherein the inflatable material is in a deflated state, allowing the first and second layers to lie approximately flat, thereby enabling the protective crash pad to be folded or rolled. 
     
     
         3 . The protective crash pad of  claim 1 , wherein the inflatable material is thermoplastic polyurethane. 
     
     
         4 . The protective crash pad of  claim 1 , wherein the protective crash pad is removably joined to a foam crash pad. 
     
     
         5 . The protective crash pad of  claim 4 , wherein the protective crash pad and foam crash pad are joined using a detachable fastening mechanism. 
     
     
         6 . The protective crash pad of  claim 1 , wherein the pad, when inflated, is configured to accept and cushion a user falling from an elevation higher than the protective crash pad. 
     
     
         7 . The protective crash pad of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of elongated materials comprises threads, cables, or straps made from a high-strength material. 
     
     
         8 . The protective crash pad of  claim 1 , wherein the pad further comprises a pressure relief valve. 
     
     
         9 . The protective crash pad of  claim 1 , wherein the first and/or second layer of fabric are composed of a ripstop material. 
     
     
         10 . A protective crash pad system comprising: at least a first pad and a second protective crash pad; wherein, each protective crash pad is comprised of an inflatable material having at least a first layer of fabric and a second layer of fabric; wherein the first layer of fabric is connected to the second layer of fabric by a plurality of elongated materials; wherein the first protective crash pad is removably joined to the second protective crash pad. 
     
     
         11 . The protective crash pad system of  claim 10 , wherein each protective crash pad in a deflated state has the first layer of fabric and the second layer of fabric lying approximately flat, allowing each protective crash pad or the entire protective crash pad system to be folded or rolled. 
     
     
         12 . The protective crash pad system of  claim 10 , wherein the inflatable material is composed of thermoplastic polyurethane. 
     
     
         13 . The protective crash pad system of  claim 10 , wherein, when inflated, the system is configured to accept and cushion a user falling from an elevation higher than the protective crash pad system. 
     
     
         14 . The protective crash pad system of  claim 10 , wherein the first protective crash pad and the second protective pad are joined using a detachable fastening mechanism. 
     
     
         15 . The protective crash pad system of  claim 10 , further comprising an air pump or an inflation device integrated into at least one of the pads. 
     
     
         16 . The protective crash pad of  claim 10 , comprising a pressure relief valve integrated into at least one of the protective crash pads. 
     
     
         17 . The protective crash pad system of  claim 10 , wherein the pads are configured to be stacked one on top of the other in the inflated state.
