Stretchable mattress cover

Abstract

A bed has a mattress with a mattress top, a mattress bottom, and a mattress perimeter. The mattress includes a mattress cover surrounding the mattress. The mattress cover includes a first stretch fabric around the mattress perimeter of the mattress. The first stretch fabric has a first predominant stretch direction that is stretchable in a direction parallel to the mattress top. A multidirectional stretch fabric is positioned on the mattress top.

         21 . A mattress cover configured to surround a mattress defined by a mattress top, a mattress bottom, and a mattress perimeter, the mattress cover comprising:
 a first fabric extending around four sides of the mattress perimeter at a bottom of the mattress perimeter; and   a second fabric directly coupled to the first fabric, the second fabric extending across the mattress top and around the four sides of the mattress perimeter above the first fabric.   
     
     
         22 . The mattress cover of  claim 21 , wherein the first fabric is directly coupled to the first fabric with no zipper between the first fabric and the second fabric. 
     
     
         23 . The mattress cover of  claim 21 , wherein the first fabric is sewn directly to the second fabric defining a seam on the mattress perimeter. 
     
     
         24 . The mattress cover of  claim 21 , wherein the second fabric comprises a 4-way stretch fabric. 
     
     
         25 . The mattress cover of  claim 24 , wherein the first fabric comprises a first 2-way stretch fabric, the first 2-way stretch fabric having a stretch direction that is stretchable in a direction parallel to the mattress top and having limited or no stretch in a direction perpendicular to the mattress top.

The mattress cover of  claim 24 , wherein the first fabric comprises a fabric having limited stretch parallel along the sides of the mattress in a direction parallel to the mattress top and having limited or no stretch in a direction perpendicular to the mattress top, thereby providing stiffness and support for the mattress in the direction parallel to the mattress top. 
     
     
         27 . The mattress cover of  claim 21 , wherein the first fabric comprises a non-stretch fabric and the second fabric comprise a stretch fabric. 
     
     
         28 . The mattress cover of  claim 21 , wherein the first fabric extends across the mattress bottom. 
     
     
         29 . The mattress cover of  claim 21 , wherein the second fabric extends entirely across the mattress top. 
     
     
         30 . The mattress cover of  claim 21 , further comprising a third fabric connected to the first fabric and extending from the first fabric to cover the mattress bottom, the third fabric comprises a non-stretch woven material. 
     
     
         31 . The mattress cover of  claim 21 , wherein the first fabric comprises a top edge having a portion parallel to the mattress top, and wherein the top edge further comprises another portion non-parallel to the mattress top. 
     
     
         32 . The mattress cover of  claim 31 , wherein the portion non-parallel to the mattress top comprises a curved portion with a middle of the curved portion being lower than adjacent parts of the curved portion. 
     
     
         33 . The mattress cover of  claim 31 , wherein the portion parallel to the mattress top comprises a first parallel section and a second parallel section, the portion non-parallel to the mattress top positioned between the first parallel section and the second parallel section. 
     
     
         34 . The mattress cover of  claim 33 , wherein the first parallel section and the second parallel section have a same height from the mattress top.

The mattress cover of  claim 31 , wherein the portion parallel to the mattress top is positioned on a head side of the mattress, a left side of the mattress near the head side, and a right side of the mattress near the head side, and wherein the portion parallel to the mattress top positioned on the head side of the mattress, the left side of the mattress near the head side, and the right side of the mattress near the head side have a same height from the mattress top. 
     
     
         36 . The mattress cover of  claim 31 , wherein the portion parallel to the mattress top is positioned on a foot side of the mattress, a left side of the mattress near the foot side, and a right side of the mattress near the foot side, and wherein the portion parallel to the mattress top positioned on the foot side of the mattress, the left side of the mattress near the foot side, and the right side of the mattress near the foot side have a same height from the mattress top. 
     
     
         37 . A mattress cover configured to surround a mattress defined by a mattress top, a mattress bottom, and a mattress perimeter, the mattress cover comprising:
 a first fabric extending completely around the mattress perimeter and at least partially onto the mattress top; and   
       a second fabric having left and right sections at least partially covering the mattress top,
 wherein a divider section of the first fabric divides a left section from a right section of the mattress top.

The mattress cover of  claim 37 , wherein the first fabric completely covers a head section of the mattress top between sides of the mattress, the first fabric completely covers a foot section of the mattress top between sides of the mattress, the second fabric extends from the mattress top to at least partially cover the mattress perimeter, and the first fabric comprises a woven material with having limited or no stretch and the second fabric is configured to stretch multi-directionally. 
     
     
         39 . A mattress cover configured to surround a mattress defined by a mattress top, a mattress bottom, and a mattress perimeter, the mattress cover comprising:
 a first stretch fabric both covering the mattress bottom and at least partially covering a bottom portion of the mattress perimeter;   a second stretch fabric both covering the mattress top at least partially covering a top portion of the mattress perimeter; and   a third stretch fabric extending around a middle portion of the mattress perimeter between the first stretch fabric and the second stretch fabric.   
     
     
         40 . The mattress cover of  claim 39 , further comprising corner protectors extending around corners of the mattress perimeter, the corner protectors covering at least top portion and the bottom portion of the mattress perimeter, a top edge of the corner protectors vertically spaced downward from the mattress top, the corner protectors comprising a 2-way stretch fabric having a stretch direction that is stretchable in a vertical direction.
