Ironing Appliance With Cordless Iron And Charging Base

Abstract

An ironing appliance comprising a cordless iron ( 1 ) comprising a soleplate ( 3 ) with an ironing surface designed to come into contact with the clothing and a charging base ( 2 ) on which the iron ( 1 ) is placed during the inactive ironing phases, the appliance comprising a hydraulic connector comprising a first part ( 7 ) attached to the charging base ( 2 ) and a second part ( 8 ) attached to the iron ( 1 ), characterized in that the appliance comprises a magnetic attraction device ( 75, 85 ) generating a force that helps connect the first part ( 7 ) and the second part ( 8 ) of the hydraulic connector.

1 . An ironing appliance comprising:
 a cordless iron including:   a soleplate with an ironing surface configured to contact a clothing article and a charging base;   a hydraulic connector including a first part attached to the charging base and a second part attached to the iron;   a magnetic attraction device configured to generate a force connecting the first part and the second part of the hydraulic connector.   
     
     
         2 . The ironing appliance according to  claim 1 , wherein the force generated by the magnetic attraction device provides a stable equilibrium of the iron in a charging position in which the iron is hydraulically connected to the base by the hydraulic connector and the soleplate is in contact with ambient air, the charging position corresponding to a position in which the iron would be unstable without said magnetic attraction device. 
     
     
         3 . The ironing appliance according to  claim 1 , wherein the charging base is configured to rest on a work surface and wherein, in the charging position, the ironing surface is sloped at an angle between 0° and 45° relative to the work surface. 
     
     
         4 . The ironing appliance according to  claim 1 , wherein the magnetic attraction device is connected to the first part and in the second part of the hydraulic connector. 
     
     
         5 . The ironing appliance according to  claim 4 , wherein the first part and the second part of the hydraulic connector include at least one ring-shaped permanent magnet. 
     
     
         6 . The ironing appliance according to  claim 1 , wherein the iron includes a housing positioned above the soleplate, the housing including a rear cantilever part extending behind the soleplate, wherein the second part of the connector is mounted on the rear part of the iron. 
     
     
         7 . The ironing appliance according to  claim 6 , wherein the second part of the hydraulic connector is mounted on a lower surface of the rear cantilever part. 
     
     
         8 . The ironing appliance according to  claim 7 , wherein the appliance further comprises an electrical connector including a first part attached to the charging base and a second part attached to the iron. 
     
     
         9 . The ironing appliance according to  claim 8 , wherein the second part of the electrical connector is positioned above the second part of the hydraulic connector when the iron is resting on the soleplate. 
     
     
         10 . The ironing appliance according to  claim 8 , wherein the second part (of the hydraulic connector is mounted on a lower surface of the rear cantilever rear part of the iron.

The ironing appliance according to  claim 1 , wherein the base includes a lower surface configured to rest on the work surface and wherein the first part of the hydraulic connector is positioned at a top of an access ramp that slopes towards the lower surface, the access ramp configured to transition the iron from the base to the work surface by sliding it the iron along the access ramp. 
     
     
         12 . The ironing appliance according to  claim 1 , wherein the base includes a fastening device configured to be stabilize the work surface. 
     
     
         13 . The ironing appliance according to  claim 1 , wherein the base includes a power cable including a plug for electrical connection to a household power supply network. 
     
     
         14 . The ironing appliance according to  claim 3 , wherein the work surface is an ironing board.
