Abstract

A lid for a container featuring three key innovations: an integrated carrying handle eliminating separate accessories, a hinged dust-proof cap providing one-handed operation, and a dual-outlet spout accommodating both straw-based and direct drinking preferences. The spout includes a smaller opening for straw insertion and a larger opening for direct drinking, with a single stopper simultaneously sealing both openings to prevent contamination. The hinge mechanism allows quick access while keeping the cap attached to prevent loss, making the lid ideal for active users requiring versatile hydration options.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A lidded container comprising:
 a container body having an opening configured to receive contents; a lid detachably connected to the container body and comprising:
 a base configured to connect to the opening,
 a top surface connected to the base, and
 a cap movably connected to the top surface by a first connecting member;
   a spout attached to the top surface, the spout comprising:
 a wall member extending around the base portion and having a first opening for direct drinking; and
 a base portion having a second opening configured to receive a straw;
   a stopper attached to the cap and configured to selectively seal the first opening and the second opening when the cap is in a closed position.

         2 . The lidded container of claim 1 , wherein the first connecting member comprises a hinge mechanism allowing the cap to pivot between open and closed positions.

         3 . The lidded container of claim 1 , wherein the base includes a handle having a loop-shaped configuration; and the base connects to the container body via threaded engagement.

         4 . The lidded container of claim 1 , wherein the wall member has first and second ends that slope upwardly to a top portion containing the first opening.

         5 . The lidded container of claim 1 , wherein the base portion has a semi-circular configuration.

         6 . The lidded container of claim 1 , further comprising a gasket disposed between the lid and the container body.

         7 . The lidded container of claim 1 , wherein the second opening is smaller than the first opening.

         8 . The lidded container of claim 1 , wherein the cap has a curved configuration.

         9 . The lidded container of claim 1 , wherein the second opening is configured to receive a straw.

         10 . The lidded container of claim 1 , wherein the top surface is connected to the base by a second connecting member.

         11 . The lidded container of claim 1 , wherein the spout is integrally formed with the top surface.

         12 . The lidded container of claim 1 , wherein the stopper is integrally formed with the cap.

         13 . A container lid comprising:
 a base configured to detachably connect to a container opening; a spout having a dual-opening configuration comprising:
 a first opening configured for direct drinking; and
 a second opening configured for straw insertion;
   a movable cap; and a sealing element configured to simultaneously seal both the first and second openings when the moveable cap is closed.

         14 . The container lid of claim 13 , wherein the sealing element comprises a dual-configuration stopper having portions sized to fit both openings.

         15 . The container lid of claim 13 , wherein the spout is integrally formed with the lid.

         16 . The container lid of claim 13 , wherein the first and second openings are positioned adjacent to each other.

         17 . The container lid of claim 13 , further comprising a handle integrated with the base; and wherein the movable cap is connected by a hinge mechanism.

         18 . A method of drinking from a container comprising:
 providing the lidded container of claim 2 ; lifting the cap via the hinge mechanism to expose both the first opening and the second opening; selecting between:
 inserting a straw into the second opening for controlled drinking, or
 positioning a mouth over the first opening for direct drinking; and
   closing the cap to simultaneously seal both openings with the stopper; and wherein the lifting step is performed with one hand while gripping the integrated handle.

         19 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising carrying the container using the integrated handle without requiring separate accessories.

         20 . A lidded container system comprising:
 the lidded container of claim 1 ; and a straw configured to be inserted into the second opening; wherein the system provides both straw-based and direct drinking capabilities without requiring separate containers or detachable components.
