Sink Helper Protective Cover

Abstract

A protective cover for use over a sink area which can be releasably secured to the sink and the adjacent areas surrounding the sink. Preferably, the protective cover is composed of a plastic sheet material, non-absorbent material or water-impermeable material which can be washed and folded when not in use. The protective cover is provided with releasably securing means on its underside to detachably secure the protective cover to the sink and adjacent area. In one embodiment, the protective cover is in the form of a single use, disposable material.

A protective cover for which can be releasably secured over a sink and the adjacent area surrounding a sink comprising an upper surface, an undersurface, said undersurface being provided with releasably securably means affixed along at least a portion of the edge area of undersurface in such a manner that said protective cover when said is disposed over a sink and the adjacent area surrounding a sink and releasably secured thereto, water and other liquids are prevented from penetrating under the protective cover and contaminating the sink and adjacent area. 
     
     
         2 . The protective cover in accordance with  claim 1 , wherein said releasably securing means is in the form of an adhesive strip pieces. 
     
     
         3 . The protective cover in accordance with  claim 1 , wherein said releasably securing means is in the form of a plurality of miniature suction cups. 
     
     
         4 . The protective cover in accordance with  claim 1 , wherein said releasably secured means in in the form of a continuous adhesive strip along the edges of said undersurface. 
     
     
         5 . The protective cover in accordance with  claim 1 , further comprising a permanent crease incorporated into the protective cover such that said permanent crease can fittingly engage the right-angle edge between a flat surface adjacent area behind a sink and a back wall and said protective cover can be extended upwardly along a back wall. 
     
     
         6 . The protective cover in accordance with  claim 1 , further comprising an area of expandable material of sufficient size to be disposed over a sink faucet and ancillary sink fixtures. 
     
     
         7 . The protective cover in accordance with  claim 1 , further comprising a reinforced slit through which a sink faucet can extend therethrough. 
     
     
         8 . The protective cover in accordance with  claim 6 , further comprising a reinforced slit through which a sink faucet can extend therethrough. 
     
     
         9 . The protective cover in accordance with  claim 1 , wherein said protective cover is composed of a material selected from a group consisting of a plastic sheet material, a plastic-coated material, a water impermeable material and a non-absorbent material. 
     
     
         10 . The protective cover in accordance with  claim 1 , wherein said protective cover is composed of a disposable, single use material.
