Claims

Abstract

A method for evaluating one or more properties of a wellbore. The method may include identifying a total power from all electric pump motors being used in a fracture operation, gradually reduce pump rates for one or more of the electric pump motors except for one or more selected electric pump motors. The method may further include gradually reduce the pump rate of the selected pump motors and stabilizing the pressure by holding the selected pump motors at a constant rate.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method comprising:
 identifying a total power from one or more electric pump motors being used in a fracture operation;   reducing a pump rate for one or more selected electric pump motors chosen from the one or more electric pump motors to a pre-selected pump rate;   stabilizing a pressure in a wellbore by holding the one or more selected electric pump motors at a constant rate   performing one or more test by dropping the pre-selected pump rate of the one or more selected electric pump motors to 0; and   identifying a pressure pulse at surface for each of the one or more test.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more tests comprise changing a flow rate of at least one electric pump motor, neutralizing all of the one or more electric pump motors, opening at least one surface valve, or closing the at least one surface valve. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising comparing the pressure pulse for each of the one or more tests. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , identifying a selected pressure pulse from the comparing the pressure pulse for each of the one or more tests. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the pre-selected pump rate is based at least in part on preventing electrical damage or interruption to a source of power connected to the one or more electric pump motors. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the constant rate is held for a duration of 30 to 60 seconds. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising a power source that is connected to the one or more electric pump motors. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the power source is a generator or a grid. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising maintaining the power source active during the one or more test.

         11 . A system comprising:
 one or more electric pump motors configured for a fracture operation;   an information handling system connected to the one or more electric pump motors and configured to:
 identify a total power from the one or more electric pump motors; 
 reduce a pump rate for one or more selected pump motors chosen from the one or more electric pump motors to a pre-selected pump rate; 
 stabilize a pressure in a wellbore by holding the one or more selected electric pump motors at a constant rate 
 perform one or more test by dropping the pre-selected pump rate of the one or more selected electric pump motors to 0; and 
 identify a pressure pulse at surface for each of the one or more test. 
   
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the information handling system is further configured to neutralize all of the one or more electric pump motors, open at least one surface valve, or close the at least one surface valve to change a flow rate of at least one electric pump motor. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the information handling system is further configured to compare the pressure pulse for each of the one or more tests. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the information handling system is further configured to identify a selected pressure pulse from the comparing the pressure pulse for each of the one or more tests. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the pre-selected pump rate is based at least in part on preventing electrical damage or interruption to a source of power connected to the one or more electric pump motors. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the constant rate is held for a duration of 30 to 60 seconds. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 11 , further comprising a power source that is connected to the one or more electric pump motors. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein the power source is a generator or a grid. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein the information handling system is further configured to maintain the power source active during the one or more test.
