Door Trim Installation System And Method Therefor
Abstract
A door trim installation system includes a right-angle bracket that includes a first leg and a second leg, an angled reinforcement structure attached to and reinforcing the first leg and the second leg, and a securing assembly to temporarily secure the bracket to a door frame. Each of the first and second legs includes an outer surface abuttable against an interior surface of a corner portion of a door frame. The first leg includes a support shoulder designed to project out beyond a door frame and upwardly over a reveal to provide an alignment and support surface for a top piece of door trim or moulding to be installed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A door trim installation system comprising:
a right-angle bracket comprising a first leg and a second leg, wherein each of said first and second legs comprises an outer surface abuttable against an interior surface of a corner portion of a door frame, and wherein said first leg comprises a support shoulder configured to project out beyond a door frame and upwardly over a reveal to provide an alignment and support surface for a top piece of door trim or moulding to be installed; an angled reinforcement structure attached to and reinforcing said first leg and said second leg; and a securing assembly to temporarily secure said bracket to a door frame.
2 . The door trim installation system of claim 1 , wherein said alignment and support surface is disposed parallel to said outer surface of said first leg.
3 . The door trim installation system of claim 1 , wherein said angled reinforcement structure comprises a triangular panel.
4 . The door trim installation system of claim 1 , wherein said securing assembly comprises a pair of nails and each of said first and second legs comprises an orifice through which a corresponding one of said pair of nails is to be inserted.
5 . A method of using the door trim installation system of claim 1 , comprising the steps of:
abutting said outer surfaces of said first and second legs of said bracket against an interior surface of a corner portion of a door frame; abutting said support shoulder against said door frame and over a reveal of said door frame; temporarily securing said bracket to said door frame with said securing assembly; placing a top piece of door trim or moulding on said alignment and support surface of said support shoulder and thereby aligning said top piece with a top portion of said door frame; nailing said top piece in place; and removing said securing assembly and said bracket from said door frame.
6 . A door trim installation system comprising:
a right-angle bracket comprising a first leg and a second leg, wherein each of said first and second legs comprises an outer surface abuttable against an interior surface of a corner portion of a door frame, wherein said first leg comprises a support shoulder configured to project out beyond a door frame and upwardly over a reveal to provide an alignment and support surface for a top piece of door trim or moulding to be installed, and wherein said alignment and support surface is disposed parallel to said outer surface of said first leg; an angled reinforcement structure attached to and reinforcing said first leg and said second leg, wherein said angled reinforcement structure comprises a triangular panel; and a securing assembly to temporarily secure said bracket to a door frame, wherein said securing assembly comprises a pair of nails and each of said first and second legs comprises an orifice through which a corresponding one of said pair of nails is to be inserted.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
