Abstract

Compounds according to general formula (I)are modulators of the SSTR4 receptor and pharmaceutical compositions containing them are useful in the treatment of pain.

 A1 represents C or N; 
 A2 represents C or N; 
 A3 represents CR7, N, NR7, or O; 
 A4 represents CH, or N; 
 with the proviso that at least one of A1, A2 and A4 represents N, or at least A3 represents N or NR7; 
 R1 and R4 independently of one another represent
 —H; 
 —C 1-6 -alkyl unsubstituted or substituted with one, two, three or four substituents independently of one another selected from —F, —OH, —OCH 3  and —OCF 3 ; 
 —C 3-8 -cycloalkyl, unsubstituted or substituted with one, two, three or four substituents independently of one another selected from —F, —OH, —C 1-6 -alkyl and —O—C 1-6 -alkyl, wherein in each case alkyl is unsubstituted or substituted with one, two or three —F; 
 —C 2-7 -heterocycloalkyl, unsubstituted or substituted with one, two, three or four substituents independently of one another selected from —F, —OH, —C 1-6 -alkyl and —O—C 1-6 -alkyl, wherein in each case alkyl is unsubstituted or substituted with one, two or three —F;

 X represents a bond, —C(═O)— or —CR2R3-; 
 Y represents a bond, —C(═O)—, —C(═O)CH 2 —, or —CR5R6-; 
 R2, R3, R5 and R6 independently of one another represent
 —H; or 
 —C 1-6 -alkyl unsubstituted or substituted with one, two, three or four substituents independently of one another selected from —F, —OH, and —OCH 3 ; 
 
 R7 represents
 —H; 
 —F or —Cl; 
 —C 1-6 -alkyl or —O—C 1-6 -alkyl, wherein in each case alkyl is unsubstituted or substituted with one, two or three —F; or 
 —C 3-8 -cycloalkyl, —O—C 3-8 -cycloalkyl, or —CH 2 —C 3-8 -cycloalkyl, wherein in each case cycloalkyl is unsubstituted or substituted with one, two or three —F; 
 
 with the proviso that when A3 represents NR7, R7 represents
 —H;

 —C 3-4 -cycloalkyl or —CH 2 —C 3-4 -cycloalkyl, wherein in each case cycloalkyl is unsubstituted or substituted with one, two, three or four substituents independently of one another selected from —F, —OH, —OCH 3 , and —C 1-6 -alkyl unsubstituted or substituted with one, two or three —F; 
 
 R9, R10 and R11 independently of one another represent —H or —F; 
 R12 and R13 independently of one another represent —H or —C 1-6 -alkyl unsubstituted or substituted with one, two or three —F; or R12 and R13 together with the carbon atom to which they are attached form C 3-6 -cycloalkyl unsubstituted or substituted with one, two or three —F;

 —H;   —CH 3 , —CH 2 CH 3 , —CH(CH 3 ) 2 , —CH 2 CH(CH 3 ) 2 , —CH 2 CHF 2 , —CH 2 CF 3 , —CH 2 CF(CH 3 ) 2 , —CH 2 CF 2 CH 3 , —CH 2 CH 2 OCH 3 , —CH 2 C(CH 3 ) 2 OH, or —CH 2 C(CH 3 ) 2 CH 2 OCH 3 ;   -cyclopropyl, -cyclobutyl, or -cyclohexyl; in each case unsubstituted or substituted with one or two substituents independently of one another selected from —F and —CF 3 ;   -oxetanyl or -tetrahydropyranyl; in each case unsubstituted or monosubstituted with —CH 3 ;   -phenyl unsubstituted or monosubstituted with —F or —CF 3 ; or   -pyrazolyl, -pyridinyl, -pyrimidinyl, -pyridazinyl, or -pyrazinyl; in each case unsubstituted or monosubstituted with —CH 3 , —CF 3 , or -cyclopropyl unsubstituted.   
     
     
         5 . The compound according to  claim 1 , wherein Y represents a bond, —C(═O)—, —C(═O)CH 2 —, —CH 2 —, or —CH(CH 3 )—. 
     
     
         6 . The compound according to  claim 1 , wherein R4 represents
 —H;   —CH 3 , CH 2 CH 3 , —CH 2 CH 2 CH 3 , —CH(CH 3 ) 2 , —CH 2 CH(CH 3 ) 2 , —CH 2 CHF 2 , —CH 2 CF 3 , or —CH 2 CH 2 OCH 3 ;   -phenyl unsubstituted;   -cyclopropyl, cyclobutyl or cyclohexyl; in each case unsubstituted or substituted with one or two —F;   -oxetanyl or -tetrahydropyranyl; in each case unsubstituted; or   -pyrazolyl, -oxazolyl, -pyridyl; in each case unsubstituted or monosubstituted with —CH 3 , or —CH(CH 3 ) 2 .   
     
     
         7 . The compound according to  claim 1 , wherein R7 represents —H or —CH 3 . 
     
     
         8 . The compound according to  claim 1 , wherein R8 represents —H, —F, —Cl, —CH 3 , —CF 3 , —OCH 3 , or -cyclopropyl unsubstituted. 
     
     
         9 . The compound according to  claim 1 , wherein R9, R10 and R11 each represent —H; and/or wherein R12 and R13 each represent —CH 3 .
