8 . The modular bed of claim 6 , wherein to adjoin the mattress platform to the base:
the first end of the longitudinal member is coupled to the first-type slot of a first panel from the parallel panels; the second end of the longitudinal member is coupled to the first-type slot of a second panel parallel to the first panel; the second-type pin is accommodated within the second-type slot; and the arm of the latch mechanism is engaged to the hook for the latch mechanism.
9 . The modular bed of claim 7 , wherein the rim is disposed at a predefined distance from the base after the mattress platform is adjoined to the base.
10 . A base for a modular bed, comprising:
a plurality of panels, each panel comprising:
a first edge; and
a second edge oppositely disposed to the first edge, wherein the second edge of each panel is coupled to the first edge of a sequential panel for interconnecting the plurality of panels in a vertically upright alignment.
11 . The base of claim 10 , wherein the first edge of each panel comprises:
at least one first type-coupler,
wherein each of the at least one first type-coupler comprises:
a first-type pin.
12 . The base of claim 11 , wherein the second edge of each panel comprises:
at least one second type-coupler, comprising:
a receptacle configured to accommodate the first-type pin of the at least one first type-coupler to adjoin each panel to interconnect the plurality of panels.
13 . The base of claim 10 , wherein each panel comprises:
a bottom leading edge; and a top leading edge oppositely disposed to the bottom leading edge, the top leading edge comprising:
a first-type slot;
at least one second-type pin formed thereon; and
an intermediate panel portion disposed between the bottom leading edge and the top leading edge, wherein the intermediate panel portion is configured to accommodate an arm of a latch mechanism.
14 . A bridge, comprising:
a first longitudinal member, comprising:
a first end;
a second end oppositely disposed to the first end; and
a first longitudinal portion formed between the first end and the second end; and
at least one support pillar adjoined perpendicular to the first longitudinal portion.
15 . The bridge of claim 14 , wherein each pillar of the at least one support pillar comprises:
a pair of parallel vertical columns separated by a separation distance, wherein the separation distance is less than a width of the first longitudinal member, and wherein the pair of parallel vertical columns are interconnected with a horizontal member having a length equivalent to the separation distance.
16 . The bridge of claim 14 , wherein each support pillar of the at least one support pillar comprises:
a first pillar end adjoined perpendicular to the first longitudinal portion; a second pillar end oppositely disposed from the first pillar end; and a second longitudinal portion oppositely disposed from the first longitudinal portion, wherein the second longitudinal portion is adjoined to the second pillar end of at least one support pillar.
17 . A mattress platform for a modular bed, the mattress platform comprising:
a rim; and a support layer formed within the rim, the support layer comprising:
