Bed

Abstract

A bed includes a support structure and a frame structure supported on the support structure. The support structure includes at least one head plate extending in a lateral direction of the bed, at least one foot plate extending parallel to the at least one head plate and at least one intermediate plate extending parallel to the head plate and arranged between the head plate and the foot plate in a longitudinal direction. The frame structure includes a plurality of first slats and a plurality of second slats extending in the longitudinal direction and arrayed in the lateral direction. Each first slat is removably engaged with the at least one head plate and the at least one intermediate plate and each second slat is removably engaged with the at least one foot plate and the at least one intermediate plate.

1 . A bed, comprising:
 a support structure for supporting the bed on a surface, the support structure including
 at least one head plate extending in a lateral direction of the bed and arranged proximate to a head end of the bed, 
 at least one foot plate extending parallel to the at least one head plate and arranged proximate to a foot end of the bed, 
 at least one intermediate plate extending parallel to the at least one head plate and arranged between the at least one head plate and the at least one foot plate in a longitudinal direction; and 
   a frame structure supported on the support structure, the frame structure including
 a plurality of slats extending in the longitudinal direction and arrayed in the lateral direction, wherein the plurality of slats includes 
 a plurality of first slats removably engaged with the at least one head plate and the at least one intermediate plate, and 
 a plurality of second slats removably engaged with the at least one foot plate and the at least one intermediate plate. 
   
     
     
         2 . The bed of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one head plate includes a pair of head plates arranged longitudinally offset to each other and at least partially overlapping each other in the lateral direction. 
     
     
         3 . The bed of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one foot plate includes a pair of foot plates arranged longitudinally offset to each other and at least partially overlapping each other in the lateral direction. 
     
     
         4 . The bed of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one intermediate plate includes a pair of intermediate plates arranged longitudinally offset to each other and at least partially overlapping each other in the lateral direction. 
     
     
         5 . The bed of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one head plate defines a plurality of slots extending from a top end of the at least one head plate towards a bottom end of the at least one head plate, wherein the plurality of slots is arrayed in the lateral direction. 
     
     
         6 . The bed of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one foot plate defines a plurality of openings extending from a top end of the at least one foot plate towards a bottom end of the at least one foot plate, wherein the plurality of openings is arrayed in the lateral direction. 
     
     
         7 . The bed of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one intermediate plate defines a plurality of grooves extending from a top end of the at least one intermediate plate towards a bottom end of the at least one intermediate plate, wherein the plurality of grooves is arrayed in the lateral direction. 
     
     
         8 . The bed of  claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of slats defines at least one first cut-out arranged proximate to a first end of the slat and at least one second cut-out arranged proximate to a second end, arranged opposite to the first end, of the slat. 
     
     
         9 . The bed of  claim 8 , wherein the at least one first cut-out and the at least one second cut-out corresponding to each of the plurality of first slats facilitates the coupling of the associated first slat with the at least one head plate and the at least one intermediate plate. 
     
     
         10 . The bed of  claim 8 , wherein the at least one first cut-out and the at least one second cut-out corresponding to each of the plurality of second slats facilitates the coupling of the associated second slat with the at least one foot plate and the at least one intermediate plate. 
     
     
         11 . The bed of  claim 8 , wherein the at least one first cut-out and the at least one second cut-out, each extends from a top end of the associated slat towards a bottom end of the associated slat.
