Abstract
A pillow sleeve kit including a predetermined number of pillow sleeves of a single length selectable based on size of a pillow to be inserted thereinto, and of different widths, for providing a user-selectable compression pressure, fill density, firmness, and height based on individual user comfort, is provided. At least one zipper extending along one or more sides of each pillow sleeve allows insertion of the pillow into each pillow sleeve of the single length and a different width, in an open condition, to obtain an assembled pillow in a closed condition with a user-selected compression pressure, fill density, firmness, and height. A different compression pressure, a different fill density, a different firmness, and a different height are provided by assembling the pillow in each pillow sleeve of the single length and the different width. A predefined formula relates length, width, fill density, height, and mass of the assembled pillow.

20 . A kit of parts for an adjustable head rest, the kit of parts comprising:
a) a pillow, the pillow defined by a pillow stuffing contained within a pillow casing, the pillow casing and the pillow stuffing in combination defining a pillow length, an initial pillow width, and an initial pillow interior volume, the pillow being resiliently compressible and defining an initial pillow firmness, the initial pillow firmness being a resistance to compression of the pillow normal to the pillow length; and b) a pillow sleeve set, the pillow sleeve set comprising a plurality of pillow sleeves, wherein width of each pillow sleeve progressively decreases with respect to the initial pillow width, wherein length of the pillow sleeves is same as the length of the other pillow sleeves in the pillow sleeve set and is substantially same as the pillow length, wherein each of the pillow sleeves define a sleeve width and a sleeve interior volume, wherein the interior volume of each of the plurality of pillow sleeves is configured to receive and to contain the pillow, the pillow defining a compressed pillow width and a compressed pillow interior volume when the pillow is contained within the sleeve interior volume of each of the plurality of sleeves, wherein the compressed pillow width and the compressed pillow interior volume is less than the initial pillow width and the initial pillow interior volume, wherein the combination of the pillow and each of the pillow sleeves define a compressed pillow firmness when the pillow is contained within each of the pillow sleeves, wherein the compressed pillow firmness for each of the pillow sleeves is the resistance to compression of the pillow normal to the pillow length when the pillow is contained within the sleeve interior volume of each of the pillow sleeves, wherein the compressed pillow firmness is greater than the initial pillow firmness for each of the plurality of pillow sleeves, and wherein the compressed pillow firmness for one of the plurality of pillow sleeves is different from the compressed pillow firmness for another of the plurality of pillow sleeves.
21 . A kit of parts for an adjustable head rest, the kit of parts comprising:
a) a pillow, the pillow defined by a pillow stuffing contained within a pillow casing, the pillow casing and the pillow stuffing in combination defining a pillow length, an initial pillow width, and an initial pillow volume, the pillow being resiliently compressible and defining an initial pillow firmness, the initial pillow firmness being a resistance to compression of the pillow normal to the pillow length; b) a first pillow sleeve, wherein width of the first pillow sleeve is less than the initial pillow width, wherein length of the first pillow sleeve is substantially same as the pillow length, wherein the first pillow sleeve defines a first pillow sleeve interior volume, wherein the first pillow sleeve interior volume is configured to receive and to contain the pillow, the pillow defining a first compressed pillow width and a first compressed pillow volume when the pillow is contained within the first pillow sleeve, wherein the first compressed pillow width and the first compressed pillow volume are less than the initial pillow width and the initial pillow volume, wherein the combination of the pillow and the first pillow sleeve define a first compressed pillow firmness when the pillow is contained within the first pillow sleeve, wherein the first compressed pillow firmness is the resistance to compression of the pillow normal to the pillow length when the pillow is contained within the first sleeve interior volume, and wherein the first compressed pillow firmness is greater than the initial pillow firmness; and c) a second pillow sleeve, wherein width of the second pillow sleeve is less than the width of the first pillow sleeve, wherein length of the second pillow sleeve is same as the length of the first pillow sleeve, wherein the second pillow sleeve defines a second pillow sleeve interior volume, wherein the second pillow sleeve interior volume is configured to receive and to contain the pillow, the pillow defining a second compressed pillow width and a second compressed pillow volume when the pillow is contained within the second pillow sleeve, wherein the second compressed pillow width and the second compressed pillow volume are less than the first compressed pillow width and the first compressed pillow volume, wherein the combination of the pillow and the second pillow sleeve define a second compressed pillow firmness when the pillow is contained within the second pillow sleeve, wherein the second compressed pillow firmness is the resistance to compression of the pillow normal to the pillow length when the pillow is contained within the second sleeve interior volume, and wherein the second compressed pillow firmness is greater than the first compressed pillow firmness.

The kit of parts of claim 21 , wherein the first pillow sleeve and the second pillow sleeve are two of a plurality of pillow sleeves of progressively decreasing width with respect to the initial pillow width, each of the plurality of pillow sleeves in combination with the pillow defining a compressed pillow firmness when the pillow is contained within the pillow sleeve, wherein the compressed pillow firmness is greater than the initial pillow firmness, and wherein the compressed pillow firmness of each of the plurality of pillow sleeves in combination with the pillow is different from the compressed pillow firmness of another of the plurality of pillow sleeves in combination with the pillow.
23 . A set of pillow sleeves of a single length and progressively decreasing widths with respect to the initial pillow width, for accommodating a single size pillow stuffed with a fill material inside a pillow casing, wherein the single length of the pillow sleeves is same as length of each pillow sleeve and is substantially same as length of the single size pillow which is inserted into the pillow sleeves, wherein amount of the fill material within the pillow casing of the single size pillow remains unchanged when the single size pillow is inserted into each pillow sleeve of the set of pillow sleeves, the pillow casing and the fill material in combination defining a pillow length, an initial pillow width, and an initial pillow volume, the single size pillow being resiliently compressible and defining an initial pillow firmness, the initial pillow firmness being a resistance to compression of the single size pillow normal to the pillow length;
wherein a progressive decrease in width of the pillow sleeves with respect to the initial pillow width reduces fill migration and facilitates a uniform distribution of the fill material within the single size pillow, wherein insertion of the single size pillow into the pillow sleeves of progressively decreasing widths is configured to provide a user-selectable compression pressure, fill density, firmness, and pillow height to the single size pillow based on individual user comfort, wherein each of the pillow sleeves comprises a top member and a bottom member attached to each other to define an interior cavity for receiving the single size pillow, wherein three sides of the top member are attached to corresponding three sides of the bottom member by seams, wherein a fourth side of each of the top member and the bottom member is attachable by a zipper, wherein the zipper in an open condition is configured to allow insertion of the single size pillow into the interior cavity of each of the pillow sleeves of the single length and the progressively decreasing widths to obtain an assembled pillow in a closed condition with a user-selected compression pressure, fill density, firmness, and pillow height, and wherein length, width, the fill density, the pillow height, and mass of the assembled pillow are related by a predefined formula.
