Abstract
A fan assembly including a motor having an output shaft that defines a rotation axis. The fan assembly also includes a plurality of fan blades that are coupled to the output shaft and actuatable to generate airflow. A fan shroud surrounds the fan blades. Wheels are coupled to a wheel shaft and spaced apart from each other to at least partially support the fan shroud, and a battery receptacle assembly is disposed on the fan shroud and positioned between the wheels. The battery receptacle assembly has a battery receptacle that may receive a battery pack, and the fan assembly defines an upward direction and a downward direction, and the battery receptacle is disposed in the downward direction from the rotation axis.

a motor having an output shaft that defines a rotation axis; a plurality of fan blades coupled to the output shaft and configured to be rotated by the output shaft when the motor is actuated to generate airflow; a fan shroud surrounding the plurality of fan blades; wheels coupled to a wheel shaft and spaced apart from each other to at least partially support the fan shroud; and a battery receptacle assembly disposed on the fan shroud and positioned between the wheels, the battery receptacle assembly including a battery receptacle configured to receive a battery pack, wherein the fan assembly defines an upward direction and a downward direction, and wherein the battery receptacle is disposed in the downward direction from the rotation axis.
2 . The fan assembly of claim 1 , wherein the fan assembly includes a stand and the battery receptacle assembly is directly fixed to the stand.
3 . The fan assembly of claim 2 , wherein the wheels are rotatably disposed on the stand and the battery receptacle is at least partially disposed between the wheels.
4 . The fan assembly of claim 1 , wherein the battery receptacle assembly includes an electrical plug receptacle.
5 . The fan assembly of claim 1 , wherein the battery receptacle assembly includes a speed control dial that is rotatable to control a rotational speed of the motor.
6 . The fan assembly of claim 5 , wherein the speed control dial is disposed in the upward direction from the battery receptacle.
7 . The fan assembly of claim 1 , wherein the battery receptacle includes a guide rail portion configured to accept a slidable battery pack in a direction that forms a non-zero angle with the upward direction and the downward direction.
8 . A fan assembly comprising:
a motor having an output shaft that defines a rotation axis; a plurality of fan blades coupled to the output shaft and configured to be rotated by the output shaft when the motor is actuated to generate airflow, the plurality of fans defining a fan diameter, and each fan blade of the plurality of fan blades defines a leading edge and a trailing edge in an airflow direction through the fan assembly; a fan shroud surrounding the plurality of fan blades; and a front grill disposed on a front side of the fan shroud; and a rear grill disposed on a rear side of the fan shroud, wherein a ratio between i) a first axial minimum distance between the leading edge of each of the plurality of fan blades and the rear grill and ii) the fan diameter is between 10% and 25%, and wherein the first axial minimum distance is greater than a second minimum axial distance between the trailing edge of the fan blades and the front grill.
9 . The fan assembly of claim 8 , wherein the ratio is between 10% and 18%.
10 . The fan assembly of claim 8 , wherein the ratio is between 15% and 18%.
11 . The fan assembly of claim 8 , wherein the ratio is between 16% and 17%.
12 . The fan assembly of claim 8 , wherein the first axial minimum distance between the leading edge of each of the plurality of fan blades and the rear grill is greater than a third minimum distance between the leading edge of each of the fan blades and the front grill.
13 . The fan assembly of claim 8 , wherein the fan assembly defines an upward direction, a downward direction, a rightward direction, and a leftward direction relative to the rotation axis, the fan assembly further comprising a battery receptacle at a position in the downward direction and in the rightward direction or the leftward direction.
14 . The fan assembly of claim 13 , further comprising a handle disposed on the fan shroud at a position in the upward direction and in the other of the rightward direction or the leftward direction such that the handle is diagonally opposite the battery receptacle.
15 . A fan assembly comprising:
a motor having an output shaft that defines a rotation axis; a plurality of fan blades coupled to the output shaft and configured to be rotated by the output shaft when the motor is actuated to generate airflow; a fan shroud surrounding the plurality of fan blades; and a handle disposed on the fan shroud, the handle including a base and a rotating handle structure rotatable about the base, the base having a first gripping portion and the rotating handle structure defining a second gripping portion, each of the first gripping portion and the second gripping portion configured to be separately gripped by a user, and the first gripping portion spaced from the fan shroud by a gap.
16 . The fan assembly of claim 15 , wherein the rotating handle structure is rotatably coupled to opposite ends of the first gripping portion.
17 . The fan assembly of claim 15 , wherein each of the first gripping portion and the second lifting portion are engageable by a user to lift at least a portion of the fan assembly off a surface.
18 . The fan assembly of claim 15 , wherein the fan assembly defines an upward direction and a downward direction relative to the rotation axis, and wherein the handle is disposed on the fan shroud at a position in the upward direction from the rotation axis.
19 . The fan assembly of claim 18 , further comprising a battery receptacle at a position in the downward direction such that the battery receptacle is opposite the handle.
