Target Device
Abstract
The target device is a shooting target made in the likeness of an animal to offer a more realistic target practice experience. The target device comprises a body component that is configured in the shape of the preferred animal. The body component would be a wooden structure with the wood being sealed to allow for the whole component to be weatherproof for outdoor use. The target device also comprises a backboard component which is connected to the body component with brackets. Further, the target device comprises supportive blocks which are screwed into the bottom of the body component on both the front and back. Accordingly, poles and pole holders are also used to secure the target device to the ground. Thus, each target device functions as a suitable way of practicing shooting on a target, through different types of targets that are shaped like real animals.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A target device that provides a user with a shooting target made in the likeness of an animal, the target device comprising:
a body component; a backboard component; at least one supporting block; a set of poles; and a plastic insert; wherein the body component, the backboard component, and the plastic insert are adapted to be shot at and are protected from weather; and further wherein the body component is secured to the ground via the at least one supporting block and a set of poles.
2 . The target device of claim 1 , wherein the body component is a sealed plywood structure configured in shape of an animal.
3 . The target device of claim 2 , wherein the body component comprises a backboard component which is secured directly behind a back face of the body component.
4 . The target device of claim 3 , wherein the backboard component is made from the same plywood material as the body component.
5 . The target device of claim 4 , wherein the plastic insert encompasses a width of the body component and contains circular images for better accuracy in shooting.
6 . The target device of claim 5 , wherein supporting blocks are secured to the body component so that the target device can stand on its own.
7 . The target device of claim 6 , wherein the supporting blocks are secured via self-drilling screws and either glue or hook and loop fasteners.
8 . The target device of claim 7 , wherein the supporting blocks are secured to both a front face and back face of the body component.
9 . The target device of claim 8 , wherein the set of poles are connected to the back face of the body component and are embedded into a ground for maximum stability.
10 . The target device of claim 9 , wherein the set of poles are connected to the body component by pole holders which are embedded into the back face of the body component.
11 . The target device of claim 10 , wherein the pole holders are made of the same plywood material as the body component and are a cylindrical structure with an opening facing the ground to better slip the set of poles inside.
12 . The target device of claim 11 further comprising a plurality of indicia.
13 . A target device that provides a user with a shooting target made in the likeness of an animal, the target device comprising:
a body component comprising a front face and a back face; a backboard component; a plurality of supporting block attached to the body component; a set of poles attached to the body component and embedded in ground; and a plastic insert with circular images on it; wherein the body component is a thin plywood structure that is configured in a shape of a desired animal; wherein the body component contains a backboard component behind it for stability while shooting; wherein the plurality of supporting blocks are secured with self-drilling screws and glue or hook and loop fasteners onto the front and the back face of the body component to allow the target device to stand on its own; wherein the set of poles are attached to the body component via pole holders that are embedded within the back face of the body component; wherein the set of poles are also embedded in the ground in order to keep the target device upright while it is being shot; and wherein a plastic insert is inserted which encompasses most of the body component and allows for a more accurate shooting experience.
14 . The target device of claim 13 , wherein the plywood material of the body component is sealed in epoxy, waterproof paint, or oil in order to weatherproof the target device.
15 . The target device of claim 13 , wherein the backboard component is secured to the body component via brackets that are attached to a left and right side of the backboard component.
16 . The target device of claim 13 , wherein the backboard component is not connected to the body component at all, but rather has its own set of poles which are attached by pole holders on the back face of the backboard component and then embedded in the ground.
17 . The target device of claim 13 , wherein the plastic insert is inserted within a small opening at a top of the body component so as not to be seen by the user.
18 . The target device of claim 13 , wherein the plastic insert is inserted into a clear folder which is attached by glue or hook and loop fasteners to the front face of the body component so that the plastic insert is seen by the user.
19 . The target device of claim 13 , wherein the target device can be used with any suitable animal that is desirable to the user.
20 . A method of using a target for shooting practice, the method comprising the following steps:
providing a target device comprising a body component, a backboard component, and a plurality of supporting blocks that are configured in a sealed, plywood, animal-like structure; attaching the plurality of supporting blocks to the body component with the self-drilling screws and either glue or hook and loop fasteners; securing poles through the pole holders and into the ground to secure the body component; inserting the plastic insert into the body component; and stepping back from the target to the user's discretion and shooting at the target.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
