Head Protection Device
Abstract
A novel head protection liner device is disclosed. More specifically, the device is a specialized headliner for a sports helmet to help absorb contact to a user's head. The head protection liner device comprises a body component comprised of a silicone gel substance. Typically, the silicone gel within the body component would be approximately one-half inch thick but can be any suitable size. The body component of the device is then placed within an inside of any sports helmet to help absorb contact to the user's head. Once placed on a user's head, the body component would conform to a user's head and will absorb impact from any hard surface.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A head protection liner device to enhance both safety and comfort comprising:
a body component with a gel substance for energy absorption configured to be worn on its own as a skull cap; wherein the body component comprises an outer wall and an inner wall, in a curved configuration with a perimeter sidewall that extends down around a user's head and provides a snug and secure fit that conforms to contours of a user's head; wherein the gel substance helps regulate a user's head temperature; wherein the gel substance of the body component can be heated or cooled prior to use to provide pain relief for headaches or migraines; and further wherein gentle pressure and temperature regulation of the body component can enhance relaxation and promote a sense of calm.
2 . The head protection liner device of claim 1 , wherein the body component is secured within a sports helmet during use and further wherein the body component absorbs any head impacts and protects a user's head and the sports helmet comprises a hard outer shell with a peripheral edge, and a helmet inner wall.
3 . The head protection liner device of claim 2 , wherein the outer wall of the body component contacts the helmet inner wall, and the inner wall of the body component contacts the user's head.
4 . The head protection liner device of claim 3 , wherein the body component is constructed in such a manner to match a curvature of the sports helmet.
5 . The head protection liner device of claim 4 , wherein an outer wall of the body component is positioned along an interior surface of the inner wall of the sports helmet.
6 . The head protection liner device of claim 5 , wherein the body component is form-fitted inside the helmet inner wall.
7 . The head protection liner device of claim 6 , wherein the body component is secured to the helmet inner wall via an adhesive, a glue or an epoxy.
8 . The head protection liner device of claim 7 , wherein once the body component is placed on the user's head, the body component conforms to the user's head to absorb impacts.
9 . The head protection liner device of claim 1 , wherein the body component comprises an outer wall and an inner wall constructed of a silicone gel substance.
10 . The head protection liner device of claim 1 , wherein the body component comprises an outer wall and an inner wall which are flexibly attached to each other creating a hollow interior cavity.
11 . The head protection liner device of claim 10 , wherein the interior cavity is filled with a silicone gel substance.
12 . The head protection liner device of claim 11 , wherein the outer wall and the inner wall are manufactured of a silicone gel substance.
13 . The head protection liner device of claim 12 , wherein the body component is manufactured to be half an inch thick.
14 . A head protection liner device to enhance both safety and comfort comprising:
a body component with a gel substance for energy absorption configured to be worn on its own as a skull cap; wherein the body component comprises an outer wall and an inner wall, in a curved configuration with a perimeter sidewall that extends down around a user's head and provides a snug and secure fit that conforms to contours of a user's head; wherein the gel substance helps regulate a user's head temperature; wherein the gel substance of the body component can be heated or cooled prior to use to provide pain relief for headaches or migraines; wherein gentle pressure and temperature regulation of the body component can enhance relaxation and promote a sense of calm; wherein the gel substance is a silicone gel substance that can vary in viscosity, for energy absorption; and further wherein the body component is manufactured to be half an inch thick.
15 . The head protection liner device of claim 14 , wherein the body component comprises an outer wall and an inner wall constructed of a silicone gel substance.
16 . The head protection liner device of claim 14 , wherein the body component comprises an outer wall and an inner wall which are flexibly attached to each other creating a hollow interior cavity.
17 . The head protection liner device of claim 16 , wherein the interior cavity is filled with a silicone gel substance.
18 . The head protection liner device of claim 14 , wherein the body component is secured within a sports helmet during use.
19 . The head protection liner device of claim 14 further comprising a plurality of indicia.
20 . A method of protecting a user from head impacts and concussions during sports activities, the method comprising the following steps:
providing a head protection liner device comprising a body component with a silicone gel substance inside; securing the body component inside a sports helmet; positioning the sports helmet on a user's head, such that the body component conforms to the user's head; and utilizing the helmet and the head protection liner device while playing sports.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
