Abstract

A beverage lid with built-in clip mechanism that allows user to secure the lid to the side rim of a beverage cup by clipping the lid directly to the side or rim of the cup when lid is not securely fastened on top of the cup.

1 . The advantages of the present invention include, without limitation, a beverage lid comprising of a built-in clip mechanism that allows a user to clip the lid to the side of a beverage cup by securing the clip mechanism to the side (or rim) of the cup.
 a) The present invention is especially useful when a user removes the lid off the cup to add cream, sugar, and other additives to their drink, without the user needing to set the lid down on any surface.   b) The present invention comprising of a clip mechanism may be manufactured as a movable component of the lid, or a stationary and non-movable component of the lid.   In broad embodiment, the present invention is a beverage lid with a built-in clip mechanism that allows a user to clip the lid to the side rim of the cup, allowing the user to secure the lid to the cup hands free, and avoid having to set the lid down on any surface.   While the foregoing written description of the invention enables one of ordinary skill to make and use what is considered presently to be the best modes thereof, those of ordinary skill will understand and appreciate the existence of variations, combinations, and equivalents of the specific embodiment, method, and examples herein. The invention should therefore not be limited by the above-described embodiments, methods, and examples, but by all embodiments and methods within the scope and spirit of the invention as claimed.
