Abstract

A system includes a first network device and a second network device. The first network device is to connect a host to a network, and to send over the network a command that requests logging of one or more software transactions conducted in the host. The second network device is to receive the command over the network, and to execute the command by logging the one or more software transactions.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A system, comprising:
a first network device, to (i) connect a host to a network and (ii) send over the network a command that requests logging of one or more software transactions conducted in the host; and a second network device, to receive the command over the network, and to execute the command by logging the one or more software transactions.

2 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the second network device is to connect a second host to the network, and to log the one or more software transactions in a memory of the second host.

3 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the command is embedded in a transport protocol used by the first and second network devices.

4 . The system according to claim 3 , wherein the transport protocol is a Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) protocol.

5 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the second network device is to execute the command atomically.

         6 . A network device, comprising:
a host interface, to connect to a host; a network interface, to connect to a network; and processing circuitry, to connect the host to a network, and to send over the network a command that requests logging of one or more software transactions conducted in the host.

7 . The network device according to claim 6 , wherein the command is embedded in a transport protocol used by the network device.

8 . The network device according to claim 7 , wherein the transport protocol is a Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) protocol.

         9 . A network device, comprising:
a network interface, to connect to a network; and processing circuitry, to receive, over the network, a command that requests logging of one or more software transactions conducted in a remote host, and to execute the command by logging the one or more software transactions.

10 . The network device according to claim 9 , wherein the processing circuitry is to connect a second host to the network, and to log the one or more software transactions in a memory of the second host.

11 . The network device according to claim 9 , wherein the command is embedded in a transport protocol used by the network device.

12 . The network device according to claim 11 , wherein the transport protocol is a Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) protocol.

13 . The network device according to claim 9 , wherein the processing circuitry is to execute the command atomically.

         14 . A method, comprising:
in a first network device, (i) connecting a host to a network and (ii) sending over the network a command that requests logging of one or more software transactions conducted in the host; and in a second network device, receiving the command over the network, and executing the command by logging the one or more software transactions.
