Push-up Fitting

Abstract

A push-up fitting for a sink comprises a drain pipe, whose upper end is adapted to be attached to a sink bottom and whose lower end has an outlet, the pipe having a fluid channel between the upper and lower ends and the pipe having a constriction at the lower end; a plug; a supporting element; and a push-up valve carrying the plug at its upper end and locking the plug in a closing and a discharge position, the plug in the closing position resting on the upper end of the pipe to close the fitting, and in the discharge position opening the upper end of the pipe, the valve being connected to the supporting element at its lower end, when the valve is operated by pressure on the plug, the valve being insertable into the pipe and securable with the supporting element on the constriction.

1 . A push-up fitting for a sink, a tub or the like, comprising:
 a drain pipe with a central longitudinal axis, whose upper axial end is adapted to be attached to a sink or tub bottom and whose lower axial end has an outlet, the drain pipe having a fluid channel between the upper axial end and the lower axial end and the drain pipe having a constriction at the lower axial end;   a plug;   a supporting element; and   a push-up valve which carries the plug at its upper end and can lock the plug in a closing position and in a discharge position, the plug in the closing position resting on the upper axial end of the drain pipe so as to close the push-up fitting, and in the discharge position opening the upper axial end of the drain pipe,   wherein the push-up valve is connected to the supporting element at its lower end which serves as a thrust bearing of the push-up valve, when the push-up valve is operated by pressure on the plug, and   wherein the push-up valve is embodied as an insert for the drain pipe so that it can be inserted into the drain pipe from above and is secured with the supporting element on the constriction in the axial direction, the constriction bearing the supporting element in the drain pipe such that the push-up valve is supported during actuation.   
     
     
         2 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , which further has a reservoir in particular for fragrances, the reservoir being arranged between the plug and the push-up valve. 
     
     
         3 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , wherein the drain pipe, the supporting element and the plug are annular. 
     
     
         4 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , wherein the drain pipe has a thread along an outer surface area and the drain pipe has a fixation element which can be screwed onto the thread from below so as to fasten the drain pipe to the sink, the tub or the like. 
     
     
         5 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , wherein the exterior of the fluid channel is formed by the interior surface area of the drain pipe and wherein the drain pipe is provided with recesses introduced in the surface area of the drain pipe so as to create a fluid connection between the fluid channel and a spillway in the outer region of the drain pipe. 
     
     
         6 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 5 , wherein the recesses are positioned such that the fluid channel allows a fluid connection for fluids from a spillway of the sink, tub or the like. 
     
     
         7 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , wherein the constriction of the drain pipe is formed as a protrusion within the fluid channel in the drain pipe which bears the push-up valve above the supporting element. 
     
     
         8 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , which further has a reservoir, the reservoir being arranged between the plug and the push-up valve wherein the reservoir can be opened without the use of tools so as to allow an easy access to the reservoir, for instance for introducing a fragrance and/or for cleaning and/or maintenance purposes. 
     
     
         9 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , which further has a reservoir, the reservoir being arranged between the plug and the push-up valve, wherein the reservoir is connected to the plug via a thread or a locking mechanism, the reservoir being preferably provided with an exterior thread and the plug with an interior thread. 
     
     
         10 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , wherein the reservoir is provided with slots in its axial direction and/or with guide tabs in its axial direction, the guide tabs being adapted for guiding the reservoir along the drain pipe. 
     
     
         11 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , which further has a reservoir, the reservoir being arranged between the plug and the push-up valve, the plug being equipped with a seal for sealing the plug in the closing position at the upper end of the drain pipe. 
     
     
         12 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , wherein the supporting element is equipped with a fastening portion which can be releasably connected to the push-up valve, the releasable connection being preferably embodied as a threaded connection. 
     
     
         13 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , wherein the push-up valve has a body adapted for receiving the axially acting spring of the push-up valve, the axially acting spring pressurizing a movable part of the push-up valve upwards in the axial direction so as to bring the plug in the discharge position, the push-up valve further having a spring and locking mechanism in its body which is adapted to retain the plug in the closing position. 
     
     
         14 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , wherein the push-up valve has an adjusting element which allows setting the distance between the closing position and the discharge position in order to make individual adjustment to the requirements or preferences possible. 
     
     
         15 . The push-up fitting according  claim 1 , which further has a reservoir, the reservoir being arranged between the plug and the push-up valve, the reservoir being adapted for outflowing fluids to be conducted through the reservoir, ensuring filtration and retention of solids and/or impurities. 
     
     
         16 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , which further has a reservoir, the reservoir being arranged between the plug and the push-up valve, the reservoir being adapted for receiving and retaining a pelletized water-soluble substance which is or contains an antiseptic, a germ-killing agent, an antibacterial and/or fungicidal substance, a deodorant, a fragrance, a perfume, a cleaning agent or a different water-soluble substance or a mixture of the abovementioned substances. 
     
     
         17 . The push-up fitting according to  claim 1 , wherein the drain pipe has a length of at least 4 cm, preferably 7 cm, particularly preferably 10 cm; and/or
 wherein the drain pipe has an outer diameter of 41.9 mm; and/or   wherein the recesses is arranged 2.95 cm below the upper rim of the drain pipe; and/or   wherein the recesses has a width of 2 cm and a height of 1 cm; and/or   wherein the thread is a 1¼ inch thread; and/or   wherein the fixation element has an outer diameter of 5.7 cm; and/or   wherein the reservoir has an outer diameter of 3.2 cm; and/or   wherein the fluid channel has an inner diameter of 3.7 cm; and/or   wherein the plug has a diameter of 6 cm.
