Curtain Extension System and Methods of Use

Abstract

The present disclosure provides a versatile curtain extension system designed to seamlessly extend the length of a curtain to accommodate varying ceiling heights. The system comprises a main curtain equipped with either hook or loop tape on its rear side, and extension panels featuring the opposite tape type for secure attachment. Each extension panel can be connected in succession, allowing for incremental adjustments to the curtain's length, and the connections between the main curtain and extension panels may be hidden by horizontal pleats. This system is compatible with various hanging methods, including rods, rings, and brackets, offering flexibility and convenience in installation.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A curtain comprising:
 a front, a top, a bottom, and a rear;   a plurality of vertical pleats extending down from the top of the curtain;   a horizontal pleat attached to the bottom of the curtain; and   a curtain extension system located on the rear of the curtain.   
     
     
         2 . The curtain of  claim 1  wherein the curtain extension system comprises at least one of a hook tape or a loop tape. 
     
     
         3 . The curtain of  claim 1  wherein the horizontal pleat at the bottom of the curtain conceals the curtain extension system. 
     
     
         4 . The curtain of  claim 1  further comprising an extension panel attached to the curtain extension system. 
     
     
         5 . The curtain of  claim 4  wherein a top of the extension panel comprises at least one of a hook tape or a loop tape. 
     
     
         6 . The curtain of  claim 5  wherein the at least one of the hook tape or the loop tape of the extension panel is attached to the curtain extension system on the rear of the curtain. 
     
     
         7 . The curtain of  claim 4  wherein a bottom of the extension panel comprises a horizontal pleat. 
     
     
         8 . The curtain of  claim 4  wherein a top of the extension panel does not comprise a heading. 
     
     
         9 . The curtain of  claim 1  further comprising a lining on the rear of the curtain. 
     
     
         10 . The curtain of  claim 9  wherein the lining is attached to the rear of the curtain between two vertical folds. 
     
     
         11 . The curtain of  claim 9  wherein a bottom of the lining is not attached to the curtain. 
     
     
         12 . The curtain of  claim 11  wherein the bottom of the lining extends past the bottom of the curtain. 
     
     
         13 . The curtain of  claim 11  wherein the bottom of the lining is spaced apart from a bottom of the horizontal pleat. 
     
     
         14 . The curtain of  claim 9  wherein the curtain extension system is located under the lining. 
     
     
         15 . The curtain of  claim 1  further comprising an opening on the rear of the curtain for accessing the curtain extension system. 
     
     
         16 . The curtain of  claim 1  further comprising a heading at the top of the curtain. 
     
     
         17 . The curtain of  claim 16  wherein the heading comprises at least one of a hook tape or a loop tape. 
     
     
         18 . A method of extending the length of a curtain comprising:
 providing a main curtain having a first curtain extension system;   wherein the first curtain extension system comprises at least one of a hook tape or a loop tape on a rear side of the main curtain; and   attaching a top of a first extension panel to the at least one of the hook tape or the loop tape of the first curtain extension system.   
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 18  further comprising attaching a second extension panel to a second curtain extension system on a rear side of the first extension panel. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 18  further comprising hanging the main curtain using at least one of a rod, a plurality of rings, or a bracket.
