Hookah subassembly and components of the subassembly
Abstract
A hookah subassembly including a liquid retaining member for retaining a liquid to filter a material that is to be smoked prior to being inhaled by a user and a flow path for directing smoke from a smoked substance retaining member including a substance to be smoked to a point of entry in the liquid retaining member that is below an upper surface of the liquid retaining member. The point of entry in the liquid retaining is preferably located below a mid-section of the liquid retaining member and most preferably the point of entry is located at a bottom or lowermost portion of the liquid retaining member. The hookah subassembly is configured to direct smoke to be purged from the hookah subassembly in a cross-shaped pattern from the bottom of the subassembly. A draw flow control member varies the draw between a wide open, a medium and a restrictive draw.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A hookah subassembly, comprising:
(a) a liquid retaining member for retaining a liquid to filter a material that is to be smoked prior to being inhaled by a user; and, (b) a flow path for directing smoke from a smoked substance retaining member including a substance to be smoked to a point of entry in the liquid retaining member that is below an upper surface of the liquid retaining member.
2 . The hookah subassembly of claim 1 , wherein:
(a) said flow path extends around at least a portion of an outer peripheral surface of said liquid retaining member.
3 . The hookah subassembly of claim 1 , wherein:
(a) said flow path extends around at least a portion of an outer circumferential surface of said liquid retaining member and supplies smoke to said liquid retaining member below a mid-section of said liquid retaining member.
4 . The hookah subassembly of claim 1 , wherein:
(a) an inhalation port that an inhalation tube, conduit or hose is to be connected to during smoking to inhale smoke is disposed below a mid-section of said liquid retaining member.
5 . The hookah subassembly of claim 1 , wherein:
(a) said flow path extends around at least a portion of an outer circumferential surface of said liquid retaining member and supplies smoke to said liquid retaining member at a point of entry formed in a bottom of said liquid retaining member.
6 . A hookah subassembly, comprising:
(a) a liquid retaining member for retaining a liquid to filter a material that is to be smoked prior to being inhaled by a user; and, (b) a purge smoke control member configured to direct smoke in a generally cross shaped smoke pattern during a purge operation.
7 . The hookah subassembly of claim 6 , wherein:
(a) the purge smoke control member is configured to direct smoke in the generally cross shaped smoke pattern during the purge operation below the liquid retaining member.
8 . The hookah subassembly of claim 6 , wherein:
(a) the purge smoke control member is configured to direct smoke during the purge operation below each of four sides of the liquid retaining member to provide the generally cross shaped purge smoke pattern.
9 . The hookah subassembly of claim 8 , further including:
(a) a first set of two opposing foot portions and a second set of two opposing foot portions extending between the first set of two opposing foot portions, each of the two opposing foot portions of said first set of two opposing foot portions are taller than each of the two opposing foot portions of the second set of two opposing foot portions to allow purge smoke to pass under each foot portion of the second set of two opposing foot portions between the two foot portions of the first set of two opposing foot portions during the purge operation.
10 . The hookah subassembly of claim 9 , wherein:
(a) the first set of two opposing foot portions form a lowermost portion of the hookah subassembly.
11 . A hookah subassembly, comprising:
(a) an internal member and an outer housing for housing said internal member, said internal member and said outer housing being configured to form a liquid retaining chamber, section or portion; (b) said outer housing including a connection portion to which a smoked substance bowl containing a substance to be smoked is operably connected to when the hookah subassembly is used to smoke; and, (c) at least one of the following:
(i) a smoke flow path formed between said outer housing and said internal member for delivering smoke to a point of entry in the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion that is below an upper surface of the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion, and,
(ii) a removable draw flow control member, wherein when the removable draw flow control member is removed from the hookah subassembly, the hookah subassembly will operate in a wide open smoke draw mode, when the removable draw flow control member is in a first position in the hookah subassembly, the hookah subassembly will operate in a medium draw mode and when the removable draw flow control member is in a second position, the hookah subassembly will operate in a restrictive draw mode.
12 . The hookah subassembly of claim 11 , wherein:
(a) the hookah subassembly includes the smoke flow path and the removable draw flow control member.
13 . The hookah subassembly of claim 11 , wherein:
(a) said outer housing includes at least a first cover member and a second cover member, said first cover member and said second cover member are configured to surround and house said internal member.
14 . The hookah subassembly of claim 11 , wherein:
(a) said internal member and said outer housing defining a hot chamber extending around an outer periphery of the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion, said hot chamber is configured to direct smoke from the smoked substance bowl to a smoke entry of the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion, wherein the smoke point entry of the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion is disposed in a bottom of the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion.
15 . The hookah subassembly of claim 14 , wherein:
(a) said internal member and said outer housing defining a cold chamber extending around an outer periphery of the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion, said cold chamber is configured to direct smoke that has passed through water in the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion to a tube connection portion configured to receive a tube that a user uses during a smoking mode and a purge mode, wherein the tube connection portion is disposed in a lower portion of the hookah subassembly so that smoke passing through the water in the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion travels downwardly prior to entering the tube connection portion so that water or moisture will not enter the tube connection portion.
16 . The hookah subassembly of claim 15 , wherein:
(a) said internal member and said outer housing defining a purge chamber extending around an outer periphery of the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion, said purge chamber is configured to purge smoke from the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion during a purge mode.
17 . The hookah subassembly of claim 16 , wherein:
(a) said purge chamber includes a first portion disposed above the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion and a second portion disposed below the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion, wherein during a purge mode smoke from the liquid retaining chamber, section or portion to be purged enters the purge chamber and smoke purged from hookah subassembly exists the purge chamber from the second portion.
18 . The hookah subassembly of claim 17 , wherein:
(a) the purge chamber is disposed between the hot chamber and the cold chamber.
19 . The hookah subassembly of claim 17 , wherein:
(a) the tube connection portion is disposed between the first portion of the purge chamber and the second portion of the purge chamber.
20 . The hookah subassembly of claim 12 , wherein:
