Air Purifier

Abstract

A direct plug-in air purifier, including a front shell, a rear shell, an air ionizer, a fan, and a front cover. The front shell includes a recessed portion configured to hold a mechanical air filter. The rear shell is attached to the front shell and includes an air outlet. The air ionizer and the fan are disposed in a space defined between the front shell and the rear shell. The front cover is releasably attached to the front shell and configured to allow air to pass therethrough. The fan is configured to draw air through the front cover, the mechanical filter, and an air guide formed in the recessed portion, and to expel air through the air outlet.

1 . A direct plug-in air purifier, comprising:
 a front shell comprising a recessed portion configured to hold a mechanical air filter; a rear shell attached to the front shell and comprising an air outlet;   an air ionizer and a fan, both of which are disposed in a space defined between the front shell and the rear shell;   a front cover releasably attached to the front shell and configured to allow air to pass therethrough,   wherein the fan is configured to draw air through the front cover, the mechanical filter, and an air guide formed in the recessed portion, and to expel air through the air outlet.   
     
     
         2 . The air purifier according to  claim 1 , wherein the air outlet is disposed at an upper portion of the back shell so as to expel air upward. 
     
     
         3 . The air purifier according to  claim 1 , wherein the fan is disposed adjacent to the air guide. 
     
     
         4 . The air purifier according to  claim 1 , wherein the fan is a centrifugal fan. 
     
     
         5 . The air purifier according to  claim 1 , wherein the air guide has a radial shape. 
     
     
         6 . The air purifier according to  claim 1 , wherein the mechanical air filter is a HEPA filter. 
     
     
         7 . The air purifier according to  claim 1 , further comprising an LED disposed in the space and a middle shell, wherein the middle shell comprises an opening or a window for allowing light from the LED to pass therethrough. 
     
     
         8 . The air purifier according to  claim 7 , comprising a plurality of LEDs disposed in the space, wherein the middle shell comprises a plurality of openings or windows for allowing light from respective LEDs to pass therethrough. 
     
     
         9 . The air purifier according to  claim 8 , wherein the plurality of openings or windows are arranged on opposite sides of the recessed portion. 
     
     
         10 . The air purifier according to  claim 7 , wherein the intensity of the light is variable based on a speed of the fan.
