Air fryer basket for a cooking assembly of an oven appliance

Abstract

A cooking assembly for an oven appliance may define a vertical direction, a lateral direction, and a transverse direction. The cooking assembly may include a rack assembly mounted within a cooking chamber of the oven appliance. The rack assembly may include a main frame and a rail assembly. The main frame may include a front member and a rear member spaced apart along the transverse direction. The rail assembly may be attached to the front member and the rear member and extended along the transverse direction. The cooking assembly may further include a slidable basket assembly that may include a cooking basket and a hook assembly mounted to the cooking basket. The hook assembly may be slidably attached to the rail assembly to move the slidable basket assembly between a retracted position and an extended position relative to the rack assembly.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A cooking assembly for an oven appliance defining a vertical direction, a lateral direction, and a transverse direction, the cooking assembly comprising:
 a rack assembly mounted within a cooking chamber of the oven appliance, the rack assembly comprising a main frame and a rail assembly, the main frame comprising a front member and a rear member spaced apart along the transverse direction, the rail assembly attached to the front member and the rear member and extended along the transverse direction; and   a slidable basket assembly comprising a cooking basket and a hook assembly mounted to the cooking basket, the hook assembly slidably attached to the rail assembly to move the slidable basket assembly between a retracted position and an extended position relative to the rack assembly.   
     
     
         2 . The cooking assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the front member defines a basket opening for receiving the cooking basket. 
     
     
         3 . The cooking assembly of  claim 2 , wherein the front member comprises a base, a first front guide disposed at a first side of the base, and a second front guide disposed at a second side of the base, and wherein the rear member comprises a first rear guide disposed at a first side of the rear member and a second rear guide disposed at a second side of the rear member. 
     
     
         4 . The cooking assembly of  claim 3 , wherein the rail assembly comprises a first guide rail extended approximately along the transverse direction and a second guide rail extended approximately along the transverse direction, wherein the first guide rail is attached to the first front guide and the first rear guide, and wherein the second guide rail is attached to the second front guide and the second rear guide. 
     
     
         5 . The cooking assembly of  claim 4 , wherein the main frame further comprises a first support rail extended approximately along the transverse direction and a second support rail extended approximately along the transverse direction, wherein the first support rail is attached to the first front guide and the first rear guide, wherein the second support rail is attached to the second front guide and the second rear guide, wherein the first support rail is positioned outward of the first guide rail approximately along the lateral direction, and wherein the second support rail is positioned outward of the second guide rail approximately along the lateral direction. 
     
     
         6 . The cooking assembly of  claim 3 , wherein the adjustable member assembly comprises a first adjustable member and a second adjustable member for adjusting a lateral width of the cooking assembly, and wherein the first adjustable member is adjustably attached within the first front guide and the first rear guide, and wherein the second adjustable member is adjustably attached within the second front guide and the second rear guide. 
     
     
         7 . The cooking assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the cooking basket comprises a first side and a second side, wherein the hook assembly comprises a first front hook, a first rear hook, a second front hook and a second rear hook, wherein the first front hook and the first rear hook are disposed at the first side, and wherein the second front hook and the second rear hook are disposed at the second side. 
     
     
         8 . The cooking assembly of  claim 7 , wherein the first side comprises a first handle attached thereto, wherein the first handle is extended along the vertical direction from the first side, wherein the second side comprises a second handle attached thereto, and wherein the second handle is extended along the vertical direction from the second side. 
     
     
         9 . The cooking assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the cooking basket comprises a first side and a second side, wherein the hook assembly comprises a first ball bearing slide and a second ball bearing slide, wherein the first ball bearing slide is disposed at the first side of the cooking basket and the rail assembly, and wherein the second ball bearing slide is disposed at the second side of the cooking basket and the rail assembly. 
     
     
         10 . An oven appliance defining a vertical direction, lateral direction, and transverse direction, the oven appliance comprising:
 a cabinet, the cabinet comprising a pair of side walls defining a cooking chamber for receipt of food items for cooking, each side wall of the pair of side walls comprising a sliding rail; and   a cooking assembly comprising:
 a rack assembly mounted within the cooking chamber, the rack assembly comprising a main frame and a rail assembly, the main frame comprising a front member and a rear member spaced apart along the transverse direction, the rail assembly attached to the main frame and extended along the transverse direction; and 
 a slidable basket assembly comprising a cooking basket and a hook assembly mounted to the cooking basket, the hook assembly slidably attached to the rail assembly to move the slidable basket assembly between a retracted position and an extended position relative to the rack assembly. 
   
     
     
         11 . The cooking assembly of  claim 10 , wherein the front member defines a basket opening for receiving the cooking basket. 
     
     
         12 . The cooking assembly of  claim 11 , wherein the front member comprises a base, a first front guide disposed at a first side of the base, and a second front guide disposed at a second side of the base, and wherein the rear member comprises a first rear guide disposed at a first side of the rear member and a second rear guide disposed at a second side of the rear member. 
     
     
         13 . The cooking assembly of  claim 12 , wherein the rail assembly comprises a first guide rail extended approximately along the transverse direction and a second guide rail extended approximately along the transverse direction, wherein the first guide rail is attached to the first front guide and the first rear guide, and wherein the second guide rail is attached to the second front guide and the second rear guide. 
     
     
         14 . The cooking assembly of  claim 13 , wherein the main frame further comprises a first support rail extended approximately along the transverse direction and a second support rail extended approximately along the transverse direction, wherein the first support rail is attached to the first front guide and the first rear guide, wherein the second support rail is attached to the second front guide and the second rear guide, wherein the first support rail is positioned outward of the first guide rail approximately along the lateral direction, and wherein the second support rail is positioned outward of the second guide rail approximately along the lateral direction. 
     
     
         15 . The cooking assembly of  claim 12 , wherein the adjustable member assembly comprises a first adjustable member and a second adjustable member for adjusting a lateral width of the cooking assembly, and wherein the first adjustable member is adjustably attached within the first front guide and the first rear guide, and wherein the second adjustable member is adjustably attached within the second front guide and the second rear guide. 
     
     
         16 . The cooking assembly of  claim 10 , wherein the cooking basket comprises a first side and a second side, wherein the hook assembly comprises a first front hook, a first rear hook, a second front hook and a second rear hook, wherein the first front hook and the first rear hook are disposed at the first side, and wherein the second front hook and the second rear hook are disposed at the second side. 
     
     
         17 . The cooking assembly of  claim 16 , wherein the first side comprises a first handle attached thereto, wherein the first handle is extended along the vertical direction from the first side, wherein the second side comprises a second handle attached thereto, and wherein the second handle is extended along the vertical direction from the second side.

The cooking assembly of  claim 10 , wherein the cooking basket comprises a first side and a second side, wherein the hook assembly comprises a first ball bearing slide and a second ball bearing slide, and wherein the first ball bearing slide is disposed at the first side of the cooking basket and the rail assembly, and wherein the second ball bearing slide is disposed at the second side of the cooking basket and the rail assembly.
