Storage device for surfing equipment

Abstract

A storage device for surfing equipment includes a flexible container having a plurality of compartments, a removable cover configured to seal the container, wherein the cover includes at least one surfboard preparation tool, and an attachment mechanism connected to the container for suspending the device. The compartments are configured to store surfboard coating material, a board adjustment tool, fasteners, and a tether. The removable cover comprises securing mechanisms on upper and lateral surfaces of the container. The flexible container allows extraction of liquefied surfboard coating material and reconstitution of coating material fragments. The attachment mechanism includes apertures in the container and a suspension element threaded through the apertures.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A storage device for storing surfing equipment, the storage device comprising:
 a resilient container including a plurality of compartments;   a removable closure configured to close the container, wherein the closure includes at least one surfboard preparation tool integral therewith.   
     
     
         2 . The storage device for surfing equipment in accordance with  claim 1  further including an attachment mechanism connected to the container for suspending the device. 
     
     
         3 . The storage device in accordance with  claim 1  further including a sealing arrangement such that an opening edge of the resilient container and an edge of the removable closure include cooperating sealing formations. 
     
     
         4 . The storage device in accordance with  claim 1  wherein the closure includes one or more rigid edges for cutting and/or combing surfboard wax 
     
     
         5 . The storage device in accordance with  claim 1  wherein the closure is rigid. 
     
     
         6 . The storage device in accordance with  claim 1  wherein the plurality of compartments include:
 a first compartment configured to store a surfboard coating material; and 
 a second compartment configured to store a board adjustment tool. 
 
     
     
         7 . The storage device in accordance with  claim 1  wherein the second compartment includes a cutaway to allow access to a head of the board adjustment tool. 
     
     
         8 . The storage device in accordance with  claim 1  wherein there is provided a fastener compartment configured to store fasteners. 
     
     
         9 . The storage device of  claim 8  wherein the fastener compartment includes a lid to retain the fasteners. 
     
     
         10 . The storage device of  claim 1 , wherein the sealing arrangement comprises cooperating ribs and grooves having a bulb and a neck respectively. 
     
     
         11 . The device of  claim 1 , wherein the attachment mechanism comprises:
 apertures in the container; and   a suspension element threaded through the apertures.   
     
     
         12 . The device of  claim 11 , further comprising a carabiner or other coupling device attached to the suspension element. 
     
     
         13 . The device of  claim 1  wherein the tool is a wax comb disposed on one edge. 
     
     
         14 . The device of  claim 1  wherein the tool is a wax knife disposed on one edge. 
     
     
         15 . The device of  claim 1  wherein there are provided two tools on two edges of the closure, the first one being a wax comb and the second one being a knife on another edge. 
     
     
         16 . The device of  claim 1  wherein the container has straight sides and an arcuate base to form a wax puck in that shape for ready application of wax to a surfboard. 
     
     
         17 . The device of  claim 1  wherein the lid has cooperating straight edges so that the comb and the knife are straight. 
     
     
         18 . The device of  claim 1  wherein the seal is a cooperating bulbous rib and groove arrangement.
