Paving system

Abstract

A paving system for paving a ground surface and preventing plant growth on the ground surface includes a base with a bottom surface, a top surface, and a perimeter surface. The perimeter surface extends from the bottom surface to the top surface. A plurality of protrusions is coupled to the top surface of the base and forms an irregular upper surface. A coating covers the protrusions and has an ornamental appearance.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A paver comprising:
 a base having a bottom surface, a top surface, and a perimeter surface, the perimeter surface extending from the bottom surface to the top surface; and   a plurality of protrusions coupled to the top surface of the base, the plurality of protrusions forming an irregular upper surface.   
     
     
         2 . The paver of  claim 1 , wherein the perimeter surface has a square shape. 
     
     
         3 . The paver of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of protrusions is shaped to resemble rocks. 
     
     
         4 . The paver of  claim 1 , wherein the protrusions are different in size and shape to each other. 
     
     
         5 . The paver of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of protrusions entirely covers the top surface of the base. 
     
     
         6 . The paver of  claim 1 , wherein the protrusions are integrally formed with each other. 
     
     
         7 . The paver of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of protrusions is integrally formed with the base. 
     
     
         8 . The paver of  claim 1 , further comprising a coating coupled to the irregular upper surface of the plurality of protrusions, the coating having an ornamental appearance. 
     
     
         9 . The paver of  claim 8 , wherein the coating comprises glitter. 
     
     
         10 . A paver comprising:
 a base having a bottom surface, a top surface, and a perimeter surface, the perimeter surface extending from the bottom surface to the top surface, the perimeter surface having a square shape;   a plurality of protrusions coupled to the top surface of the base, the plurality of protrusions forming an irregular upper surface, the plurality of protrusions being shaped to resemble rocks, the protrusions being different in size and shape to each other, the plurality of protrusions entirely covering the top surface of the base, the protrusions being integrally formed with each other, the plurality of protrusions being integrally formed with the base; and   a coating coupled to the irregular upper surface of the plurality of protrusions, the coating having an ornamental appearance, the coating comprising glitter.   
     
     
         11 . A paving system comprising:
 a plurality of pavers, each paver of the plurality of pavers being shaped to be positionable in a tessellated configuration, each paver of the plurality of pavers comprising:
 a base having a bottom surface, a top surface, and a perimeter surface, the perimeter surface extending from the bottom surface to the top surface; and 
 a plurality of protrusions coupled to the top surface of the base, the plurality of protrusions forming an irregular upper surface. 
   
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the base of each paver of the plurality of pavers is equal in size and shape to the base of each other paver of the plurality of pavers. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the perimeter surface has a square shape. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the plurality of protrusions is shaped to resemble rocks. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the protrusions are different in size and shape to each other. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the plurality of protrusions entirely covers the top surface of the base. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the protrusions are integrally formed with each other. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the plurality of protrusions is integrally formed with the base. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 11 , further comprising a coating coupled to the irregular upper surface of the plurality of protrusions, the coating having an ornamental appearance. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the coating comprises glitter.
