Abstract

Provided is a refrigerator. The refrigerator may include a first tray assembly defining a portion of an ice making cell and a second tray assembly defining another portion of the ice making cell. The one tray assembly of the first and second tray assemblies may include a first portion that defines at least a portion of the ice making cell and a second portion extending from a predetermined point of the first portion.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An ice maker comprising:
a first tray assembly configured to define a first portion of a cell that is a space in which liquid is phase-changed into ice; a second tray assembly configured to define a second portion of the cell, the second tray assembly being in contact the first tray assembly during an ice making process and spaced apart from the first tray assembly during an ice separation process; and a heater disposed adjacent to the second tray assembly, wherein the heater is turned on in at least a partial section while a cooler supplies cold so that bubbles dissolved in the liquid within the cell moves from a portion, at which the ice is made, toward the liquid that is in a fluid state to increase a transparency of the ice.

2 . The ice maker of claim 1 , further comprising a driver configured to move the second tray assembly.

3 . The ice maker of claim 1 , wherein the second tray assembly comprise:
a tray configured to define the second portion of the cell, and a tray case configured to support at least a portion of the tray.

4 . The ice maker of claim 3 , wherein a tray case comprises a tray cover and a tray supporter.

5 . The ice maker of claim 4 , further comprising a heater case in which the heater is installed.

6 . The ice maker of claim 5 , wherein the heater case is integrally formed with the tray supporter.

7 . The ice maker of claim 5 , wherein the heater case is separately provided to be coupled to the tray supporter.

8 . The ice maker of claim 5 , wherein the heater case includes a heater accommodation portion to accommodate the heater.

9 . The ice maker of claim 5 , wherein the heater case includes an opening.

10 . An ice maker comprising:
a first tray assembly configured to define a first portion of a cell that is a space in which liquid is phase-changed into ice; a second tray assembly configured to define a second portion of the cell, the second tray assembly being in contact the first tray assembly during an ice making process and spaced apart from the first tray assembly during an ice separation process; and a heater disposed adjacent to the first tray assembly, wherein the heater is turned on in at least a partial section while a cooler supplies cold so that bubbles dissolved in the liquid within the cell moves from a portion, at which the ice is made, toward the liquid that is in a fluid state to increase a transparency of the ice.

11 . The ice maker of claim 10 , wherein the first tray assembly is a region in which the heater is disposed.

12 . The ice maker of claim 10 , wherein the first tray assembly includes a first tray case contacting the first tray to support at least a portion of the first tray.

13 . The maker of claim 12 , wherein the first tray case includes a first tray supporter and a first tray cover.

14 . The refrigerator of claim 13 , wherein the first tray supporter and the first tray cover are integrally provided.

15 . The refrigerator of claim 13 , wherein the first tray supporter and the first tray cover are separately manufactured configurations coupled to each other.

16 . The ice maker of claim 13 , further comprising a bracket configured to define at least a portion of a space that accommodates the first tray assembly and the second tray assembly.

17 . The ice maker of claim 16 , wherein the first tray cover is manufactured as a separate part from the bracket and is coupled to the bracket.

18 . The ice maker of claim 16 , wherein the first tray cover is integrally formed with the bracket.

         19 . A refrigerator comprising:
a storage chamber configured to store foods; a door that opens and closes the storage chamber; and an ice maker of claim 1 .

         20 . A refrigerator comprising:
a storage chamber configured to store foods; a door that opens and closes the storage chamber; and an ice maker of claim 10 .
