Equipment bag attachment apparatus and method

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for releasably securing items to a bag, and in particular to a method and apparatus for securing equipment, covers, articles, devices, and the like to a sports bag such as a golf bag using magnetic adhesion.

1 . An article comprising:
 a bag having a magnetic area; and   a cover having an area attractive to a magnetic whereby the cover and be releasably secured to the bag.   
     
     
         2 . The article of  claim 1  where the bag is a golf bag, and the cover is a head cover. 
     
     
         3 . The article of  claim 2  where the magnetic area is located near a top of the golf bag adjacent to the head covers. 
     
     
         4 . The article of  claim 2  where the area attractive to a magnetic is a disk. 
     
     
         5 . The article of  claim 4  where the disk is attached to the head cover after manufacture. 
     
     
         6 . The article of  claim 4  where the disk is embedded into the head cover at the time of manufacture. 
     
     
         7 . The article of  claim 1  where the area attractive to the magnet is made from a fabric attractive to a magnet. 
     
     
         8 . The article of  claim 1  where the magnetic area on the bag is a clip secured to the bag. 
     
     
         9 . The article of  claim 1  where the area attractive to a magnetic is a disk secured to the head cover with an adhesive. 
     
     
         10 . The article of  claim 1  further comprising multiple magnetic areas on the bag. 
     
     
         11 . The article of  claim 1  where the magnetic are comprises a collar and a handle of the bag.
