Interchangeable Foreparts for Shoes

Abstract

The invention relates to a footwear kit and method of providing a footwear kit comprising a forepart that can be removably attached to both a left shoe and a right shoe, in which the shoes are substantially asymmetric about a line running from the front to the back of the shoe, and in which the periphery of the forepart substantially matches the periphery of the toe region of both the left shoe and the right shoe.

         21 . A method for providing a footwear kit comprising the steps of:
 providing a midsole for a left shoe and a midsole for a right shoe, each midsole having a toe region being an area from a front of the midsole to a selected line in front of a back of the midsole;   shaping a periphery of each midsole to be asymmetric about a line running from the front of the midsole towards the back of the midsole; and   shaping a periphery of the toe region of the midsole of the left shoe to be substantially identical to a periphery of the toe region of the midsole of the right shoe.   
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 21 , further comprising the steps of:
 providing a first forepart and a second forepart, each having a forepart periphery;   shaping the forepart peripheries to be substantially identical to each other and to the peripheries of the toe regions of the midsoles.   
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 22 , further comprising the steps of:
 removably attaching the first forepart to the midsole of left shoe; and   removably attaching the second forepart to the midsole of the right shoe.   
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 22 , wherein providing a first forepart and a second forepart further comprises providing a first forepart having a first traction characteristic and a second forepart having a second traction characteristic, said first traction characteristic being different from said second traction characteristic. 
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 21 , further comprising the steps of:
 providing a heel region on the midsole for the left shoe and a heel region on the midsole for the right shoe; and   shaping a periphery of the heel region of the midsole for the left shoe to be substantially identical to a periphery of the heel region of the midsole for the right shoe.   
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 25 , further comprising the steps of:
 providing a first heel part and a second heel part, each having a periphery; and   shaping the peripheries of both heel parts to be substantially identical to each other and to the peripheries of the heel region of the midsoles.   
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 26 , further comprising the steps of:
 removably attaching the first heel part to the midsole of the left shoe and   removably attaching the second heel part to the midsole of the right shoe.   
     
     
         28 . A footwear kit comprising:
 a left shoe; and   a right shoe;   wherein each of said left shoe and said right shoe has a toe region;   wherein each of said left shoe and said right shoe has a peripheral shape that is generally asymmetric about a line running from a frontmost edge to a backmost edge of said left shoe or said right shoe;   wherein said toe region is generally symmetric about a line running from a forwardmost edge to a rearmost edge of said toe region;   wherein said toe region covers an entire area until at least three eighths of a distance from said frontmost edge to said backmost edge.   
     
     
         29 . The kit according to  claim 28 , wherein said rearmost edge is different from said backmost edge. 
     
     
         30 . The kit according to  claim 28 , wherein said kit further comprises at least one forepart and wherein said at least one forepart has a periphery which generally matches a periphery of said toe region. 
     
     
         31 . The kit according to  claim 28 , wherein said toe region is generally asymmetric about a line running from generally a left side towards generally a right side of said toe region. 
     
     
         32 . The kit according to  claim 28 , wherein said left shoe and said right shoe each further comprises a heel region. 
     
     
         33 . The kit according to  claim 32 , wherein said kit further comprises at least one heel part removably attachable to said heel region. 
     
     
         34 . The kit according to  claim 28 , wherein a periphery of said toe region of said left shoe and a periphery of said toe region of said right shoe are generally similar. 
     
     
         35 . A footwear kit comprising:
 a shoe; and   at least one forepart;   wherein said at least one forepart is generally symmetric about a first center line running from a foremost edge to a hindmost edge of said at least one forepart and generally asymmetric about a second center line generally perpendicular to said first center line and running from generally a left side towards generally a right side of said at least one forepart;   wherein said shoe has a peripheral shape that is generally asymmetric about a line running from a frontmost edge to a backmost edge of shoe;   wherein said at least one forepart is attached to said shoe;   wherein said at least one forepart covers an entire area until at least three eighths of a distance from said frontmost edge to said backmost edge.   
     
     
         36 . The kit according to  claim 35 , wherein said shoe further comprises a toe region. 
     
     
         37 . The kit according to  claim 36 , wherein said forepart has a periphery which generally matches a periphery of said toe region of said shoe. 
     
     
         38 . The kit according to  claim 37 , wherein said toe region has a rearmost edge which is different from said backmost edge. 
     
     
         39 . The kit according to  claim 38 , wherein said shoe further comprises a heel region and wherein said heel region has an endmost edge which is said backmost edge of said shoe. 
     
     
         40 . The kit according to  claim 39 , wherein said kit further comprises at least one heel part removably attachable to said heel region of said shoe.
