System and Method for Matching Using Location Information
Abstract
In one embodiment, a system includes an interface and a communicatively coupled processor. The interface is configured to receive first future location information of a first user and receive second future location information of a second user. The processor is configured to determine that the first and second future location information each correspond to a future location and determine that a characteristic related to the first user corresponds to a preference related to the second user. In response to these determinations, the processor is configured to cause information to be presented to the second user, the information to be presented to the second user comprising the future location and that the first user and the second user have the future location in common.

21 . A system, comprising:
an interface configured to:
receive first location information associated with a first user, the first location information indicating a preference of the first user with respect to a location type;
receive a request to provide user profiles associated with the location type; and
receive second location information associated with a second user; and
a processor communicatively coupled to the interface and configured to:
in response to receiving the request:
determine that the second location information is associated with the location type;
determine that a characteristic related to the second user corresponds to a preference related to the first user; and
in response to determining that the second location information is associated with the location type and that the characteristic related to the second user corresponds to the preference related to the first user:
prioritize a user profile associated with the second user in a queue of suggested profiles for the first user; and
cause to transmit the queue of suggested profiles to a user device associated with the first user.
22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the location type corresponds to a type of two or more locations.
23 . The system of claim 21 , wherein:
the first location information further indicates a location area, the location area corresponding to a location coordinate; the request further indicates to provide the user profiles associated with the location area; and the processor is further configured to:
identify a second user profile that is associated with the location area, the second user profile being among the user profiles and associated with a third user;
determine that a characteristic related to the third user corresponds to a preference related to the first user; and
prioritize the second user profile associated with the third user in the queue of suggested profiles for the first user.
24 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the second location information indicates that the second user has previously been in a location associated with the location type.
25 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the second location information indicates that the second user is currently in a location associated with the location type.
26 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the second location information indicates that the second user intends to visit a location associated with the location type in future.
27 . The system of claim 21 , wherein:
the first location information further indicates a first location; the second location information indicates a second location that is different from the first location; the processor is further configured to determine that the first location information and the second location information correspond to the same location type; and prioritizing the user profile associated with the second user in the queue of suggested profiles for the first user is in response to determining that the first location information and the second location information correspond to the same location type.
28 . A method, comprising:
receiving first location information associated with a first user, the first location information indicating a preference of the first user with respect to a location type; receiving a request to provide user profiles associated with the location type; receiving second location information associated with a second user; and in response to receiving the request:
determining that the second location information is associated with the location type;
determining that a characteristic related to the second user corresponds to a preference related to the first user; and
in response to determining that the second location information is associated with the location type and that the characteristic related to the second user corresponds to the preference related to the first user:
prioritizing a user profile associated with the second user in a queue of suggested profiles for the first user; and
causing to transmit the queue of suggested profiles to a user device associated with the first user.
29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the request indicates to provide user profiles associated with users who previously have been in one or more locations associated with the location type.
30 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the request indicates to provide user profiles associated with users who are currently in one or more locations associated with the location type.
31 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the request indicates to provide user profiles associated with users who intend to visit one or more locations associated with the location type in future.
32 . The method of claim 28 , wherein:
the second location information indicate a preference of the second user with respect to the location type; and prioritizing the user profile associated with the second user in the queue of suggested profiles for the first user is further in response to determining that both the first user and the second user have expressed a preference with respect to the same location type.
33 . The method of claim 28 , wherein prioritizing the user profile associated with the second user in the queue of suggested profiles is further in response to:
reordering a set of candidate user profiles that are identified based at least on one or more preferences of the first user prior to receiving the first location information, such that one or more user profiles associated with users having location information associated with the location type are moved earlier in the queue compared to other profiles.
34 . The method of claim 28 , further comprising causing to transmit an indication to the user device associated with the first user that the second user and the first user have the location type in common.
35 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium encoded with logic, the logic configured when executed to:
receive first location information associated with a first user, the first location information indicating a preference of the first user with respect to a location type; receive a request to provide user profiles associated with the location type; receive second location information associated with a second user; and in response to receiving the request:
determine that the second location information is associated with the location type;
determine that a characteristic related to the second user corresponds to a preference related to the first user; and
in response to determining that the second location information is associated with the location type and that the characteristic related to the second user corresponds to the preference related to the first user:
prioritize a user profile associated with the second user in a queue of suggested profiles for the first user; and
cause to transmit the queue of suggested profiles to a user device associated with the first user.
36 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 35 , wherein the location type corresponds to a type of two or more locations.
37 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 35 , wherein:
the first location information further indicates a location area, the location area corresponding to a location coordinate; the request further indicates to provide the user profiles associated with the location area; and the logic is further configured to:
identify a second user profile that is associated with the location area, the second user profile being among the user profiles and associated with a third user;
determine that a characteristic related to the third user corresponds to a preference related to the first user; and
prioritize the second user profile associated with the third user in the queue of suggested profiles for the first user.
38 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 35 , wherein the second location information indicates that the second user has previously been in a location associated with the location type.
39 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 35 , wherein the second location information indicates that the second user is currently in a location associated with the location type.
40 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 35 , wherein the second location information indicates that the second user intends to visit a location associated with the location type in future.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
