Abstract

Examples of the present disclosure a wound type electrode assembly that includes a conductive layer formed on an electrode uncoated portion of an outermost side of the electrode assembly.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An wound type electrode assembly comprising:
 a conductive layer formed on an electrode uncoated portion of an outermost side of the electrode assembly.   
     
     
         2 . The electrode assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the conductive layer is formed on the electrode uncoated portion. 
     
     
         3 . The electrode assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the conductive layer comprises a conductive material, a dispersion liquid, and a binder. 
     
     
         4 . The electrode assembly of  claim 3 , wherein the conductive material comprises carbon. 
     
     
         5 . The electrode assembly of  claim 4 , wherein:
 the dispersion liquid comprises methylpyrrolidone, and   the binder comprises polyvinylidene fluoride.   
     
     
         6 . The electrode assembly of  claim 1 , wherein a thickness of the conductive layer is about 50% to about 90% of a thickness of the electrode uncoated portion. 
     
     
         7 . The electrode assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the thickness of the conductive layer is about 0.1 μm to about 100 μm. 
     
     
         8 . The electrode assembly of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the electrode assembly is wound with a positive electrode, a separator, and a negative electrode overlapped, and   an electrode uncoated portion of the positive electrode is disposed at an outermost side of the electrode assembly.   
     
     
         9 . The electrode assembly of  claim 8 , wherein the electrode uncoated portion of the positive electrode is wound around the electrode assembly at least once. 
     
     
         10 . The electrode assembly of  claim 9 , wherein
 a transverse cross-section of the electrode assembly has an elliptical shape with a pair of flat portions facing each other and a pair of curved portions connected to the flat portions, and   the conductive layer is formed on at least one of the flat portions.   
     
     
         11 . A rechargeable battery comprising:
 the electrode assembly of  claim 1 , and   a case accommodating the electrode assembly with an electrolyte therein.   
     
     
         12 . The electrode assembly of  claim 11 , wherein the case is a pouch-type case.
