Abstract

A device for attaching to a standard toilet for preventing the unintended flushing of the toilet. One embodiment replaces a standard flushing handle for flushing a toilet. This embodiment replaces an existing toilet flush handle by placing an outer cap or cover which freely spins around the exterior of an inner pinch-handle body which replaces the standard flush handle. The user must pinch the outer cap to lock onto and grip the inner pinch-handle body, and upon doing so the user can then turn the pinch-handle body counter-clockwise, which lifts the flush arm and thereby the flapper, flushing the toilet. This embodiment can replace the outer cap with a basic handle once the need for the device has passed. A second embodiment modifies a push-button flusher by securing a locking element about the push-button flusher which requires unlocking prior to activating the flusher.

1 . A modified flusher system for a toilet, the system comprising:
a modified flush handle comprising a standard flush lever arm, a universal body adapter, an inner pinch-handle body, and a spinnable cap; said flush handle comprising a distal end connected to a flush assembly within a toilet tank of a toilet; said flush handle further comprising a proximal including an end connector; said end connector configured to be received within a first flush arm receiver slot passing through said universal adapter body and a second flush arm receiver slot within said inner pinch-handle body; said universal body adapter configured to lift said standard flush lever arm when said inner pinch-handle body is turned; said spinnable cap configured to flexibly encompass said inner pinch-handle body; said spinnable cap further configured to spin freely about said inner pinch-handle body when said spinnable cap is not squeezed with sufficient force; and said spinnable cap further configured to flex inward toward said inner pinch-handle body when sufficient force is applied to said spinnable cap, such that said spinnable cap can be turned, thereby turning said inner pinch-body handle and flushing said toilet.

2 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a flusher nut placed between said universal body adapter and said toilet tank.

3 . The system of claim 2 , further comprising a flusher gasket placed between said universal body adapter and said flusher nut.

4 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
said universal adapter body comprising a notched end including at least one notch; said inner pinch-handle body comprising a finned end including at least one fin; said at least one fin configured to engage with said at least one notch of said universal adapter body; and whereby said at least one fin presses against said at least one notch when said inner pinch-handle body is turned, causing said at least one fin to push against said at least one notch, thereby turning said universal body adapter.

5 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
said spinnable cap comprising a plurality of flexible tabs and an interior space; said inner pinch-handle body configured to be inserted into said interior space of said spinnable cap, thereby temporarily flexing said plurality of flexible tabs inward; and said inner pinch-handle body further configured to be removed from said interior space of said spinnable cap, thereby temporarily flexing said plurality of flexible tabs outward.

6 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
said spinnable cap configured to be removed from said inner pinch-handle assembly; said inner pinch-handle assembly configured to be removed from said body adapter; a basic handle configured to engage with said universal body adapter affixed to said universal body adapter after said spinnable cap and said inner pinch-handle assembly are removed; and whereby said basic handle can be turned to flush said toilet.

7 . The system of claim 6 , further comprising:
said universal adapter body comprising a notched end including at least one notch; said basic handle comprising a finned end including at least one fin; said at least one fin configured to engage with said at least one notch of said universal adapter body; and whereby said at least one fin presses against said at least one notch when said basic handle is turned, causing said at least one fin to push against said at least one notch, thereby turning said universal body adapter.

8 . The system of claim 6 , wherein said basic handle comprises a feedback element selected from the list comprising: an LED light source; a speaker; and a gyro.

9 . A modified flusher system for a toilet, the system comprising:
a push-button flush assembly within a toilet tank of a toilet, said push-button flush assembly comprising a push-button configured to activate a solenoid, and wherein said solenoid is configured to flush the toilet; a cap and a mounting ring configure to be secured about said push-button, said cap comprising a spinning ring and a cap button; said mounting ring secured about said push-button and adjacent to said toilet tank via a locking nut; said spinning ring configured to be secured about said mounting ring such that said spinning ring can be depressed and turned, thereby unlocking said cap button from a locked orientation to an unlocked orientation; said cap button configured to be depressed when in said unlocked orientation, thereby depressing said push-button and activating said push-button flush assembly; and whereby when said cap button is released, said cap returns to its original orientation and said spinning ring returns to its original orientation, thereby placing said cap button in said locked orientation whereby said cap button cannot be depressed.

10 . A method of modifying a flush system for a toilet, the method comprising the steps:
providing a toilet having a toilet tank and a flush handle, said flush handle being connected to a standard flush arm; removing said flush handle from said standard flush arm; providing a modified flush handle comprising a universal body adapter, an inner pinch- handle body, and a spinnable cap; connecting said universal body adapter to said standard flush arm; connecting said inner pinch-handle body to said universal body adapter; placing said spinnable cap about said pinch-handle body; pinching said spinnable cap about said pinch-handle body such that said spinnable cap flexes inward and allows said pinch-handle body to be gripped through said spinnable cap; and turning said pinch-handle body and said spinnable cap such that said standard flush arm raises, thereby flushing the toilet.

11 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising the steps:
providing a flusher nut; placing said flusher nut between said universal body adapter and said toilet tank.

12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising the steps:
providing a flusher gasket; and placing said flusher gasket between said universal body adapter and said flusher nut.
