Apparatus for securing a token

Abstract

A token securing apparatus is provided. Token securing apparatus can include a plurality of clip arms having variable wall thickness to define a plurality of additional components such as a plurality of strap guides, a plurality of token guides, and a plurality of token tabs. The token securing apparatus can include a plurality of embodiments distinguished by their attachment mechanisms. To use the apparatus a user can affix the token securing apparatus to an item and can then insert the token into the plurality of token guides where it is held by the plurality of token tabs.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A token securing apparatus, comprising:
 a base;   at least two strap guides extending from the base;   at least two token guides, each of the at least two token guides extending from a different one of the at least two strap guides, wherein the at least two token guides are configured to secure a first portion of a token; and   at least two tabs, each of the at least two tabs extending from a different one of the at least two token guides, wherein the at least two tabs are configured to secure a second portion of the token.   
     
     
         2 . The token securing apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the base has a substantially discorectangular transverse cross-section including a plurality of planar surfaces. 
     
     
         3 . The token securing apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the base is semi-cylindrical in shape having an inner surface having an inner diameter, an outer surface having an outer diameter, and a plurality of additional surfaces. 
     
     
         4 . The token securing apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the at least two strap guides further comprise:
 an arcuate outer surface;   a substantially planar inner surface, wherein the substantially planar inner surface includes a recessed portion; and   a shelf distal from the base.   
     
     
         5 . The token securing apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the recessed portion includes a plurality of arcuate shaped inner surfaces. 
     
     
         6 . The token securing apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the token securing apparatus is monolithic. 
     
     
         7 . The token securing apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a clip comprising:
 a body having a plurality of planar surfaces and a discorectangular transverse cross-section; 
 a first tab extending from the body to the base; and 
 a second tab extending from the body and defining an opening between the second tab and the base.
