Abstract

A container lid, preferably for shaker bottles, with independently pivotable flip cap and carry loop that is configured to nest inside the flip cap. The lid body has integrally formed slots shaped and configured to retain narrow rounded portions of the interconnectable flip cap and carry loop. The underside of the lid may have one or more recesses that increase interior container volume, thus enhancing mixing functionality. The new structure provides space to accommodate a drinking user's nose and allows for 180-degree range of pivot for the flip cap and carry loop.

a first end opposite a second end,
a first shoulder and a second shoulder, both the first shoulder and the second shoulder are adjacent the first end,
fastener portions adjacent the first shoulder and the second shoulder and configured to facilitate attachment of the first shoulder and the second shoulder of the cap body to the corresponding first projection and the second projection of the lid body and to form a first pivotable engagement of the cap body to the lid body, and
a carry loop with a connector for attaching the carry loop to the cap body and configured to form a second pivotable engagement, the carry loop is further configured to nest within the cap body; wherein the first and second shoulders of the cap body generally bookend the connector of the carry loop.

2 . The lid of claim 1 , wherein the cap body is configured to carry the carry loop with the connector when the cap body is being pivoted by a user.

3 . The lid of claim 1 , wherein the carry loop has an approximately 180 -degree range of pivot when it is attached to the cap body and the lid body.

4 . The lid of claim 1 , wherein the carry loop has a first generally horizontal position where it is nested within the cap body facing toward the drinking spout and a second generally horizontal position facing away from the drinking spout.

         5 . A lid comprising:
a generally domed lid body with a drinking spout and a top side opposite a bottom side, the lid body further comprising
a first projection integral with the lid body and extending from and above the top surface thereof,
a second projection integral with the lid body and extending from and above the top surface thereof,
wherein the first projection is opposite, spaced apart, and in-line with the second projection,
a cap body with a closure for sealing the drinking spout of the lid body, the cap body further comprising
a first end opposite a second end,
a first shoulder and a second shoulder, both the first shoulder and the second shoulder are adjacent to the first end and spaced apart, forming a recess for accommodating a user's nose when the cap body is in an open position,
fastener portions adjacent the first shoulder and the second shoulder and configured to facilitate attachment of the first shoulder and the second shoulder of the cap body to the corresponding first projection and the second projection of the lid body and to form a first pivotable engagement of the cap body to the lid body, and
a carry loop with a connector for attaching the carry loop to the cap body and configured to form a second pivotable engagement, the carry loop is further configured to nest within the recess of the cap body; wherein the first and second shoulders of the cap body generally bookend the connector of the carry loop.

6 . The lid, as in claim 5 , wherein the first pivotable engagement is co-aligned with the second pivotable engagement.

7 . The lid, as in claim 5 , wherein the lid body further comprises a ledge portion extending from the drinking spout, in between the first projection and the second projection and toward an edge of the lid body opposite the drinking spout, the ledge portion is void of obstructions and configured for accommodating a user's nose when the cap body is in an open position.

8 . The lid of claim 5 , wherein the cap body is configured to carry the carry loop with the connector when the cap body is being pivoted by a user.

9 . The lid of claim 5 , wherein the carry loop has an approximately 180-degree range of pivot when it is attached to the cap body and the lid body.

10 . The lid of claim 5 , wherein the carry loop has a first generally horizontal position where it is nested within the cap body facing toward the drinking spout and a second generally horizontal position facing away from the drinking spout.

         11 . A lid comprising:
a generally domed lid body with a drinking spout and a top side opposite a bottom side, the lid body further comprising
a first projection integral with the lid body and extending from and above the top surface thereof,
