Counterweighted swing training weight device with interchangeable weights
Abstract
A training weight device designed for attachment to the proximal end of elongated sports equipment and tools is disclosed. The device features a housing, a carrier with adjustable fingers for secure attachment, and a modular weight assembly allowing for customizable resistance. Unlike traditional weights, which alter swing mechanics by shifting mass to the shaft or head, the disclosed training weight device positions weight at the handle, enhancing muscle memory and swing efficiency. Interchangeable weights, including threaded extensions and external configurations, offer precise customization. The innovative clamping mechanism ensures quick and secure attachment, making the device suitable for warm-up, practice, and performance improvement across a range of sports and tools, including bats, racquets, and hammers.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A training weight device configured to attach to an end of a handle, comprising:
a carrier; a housing coupled to the carrier; a weight assembly coupled to the housing; and a plurality of fingers radially disposed at the carrier, the plurality of fingers movably coupled to the carrier wherein the plurality of fingers are configured to tighten about the end of the handle upon the carrier being moved relative to the housing.
2 . The training weight device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of fingers is rotationally coupled to the carrier.
3 . The training weight device of claim 1 , wherein the housing is configured to rotate relative to the carrier.
4 . The training weight device of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of fingers further comprises a linkage element pivotally coupled to an end of each of the plurality of couples wherein each linkage element is configured to move related to the respective finger to achieve a greater gripping area.
5 . The training weight device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of fingers are slidably coupled to the carrier.
6 . The training weight device of claim 1 , wherein the housing is configured to move linearly relative to the carrier.
7 . The training weight device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of fingers is configured to move by a radial cam.
8 . The training weight device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of fingers is configured to move by an axial cam.
9 . The training weight device of claim 1 , wherein the housing comprises a screw motion relative to the carrier.
10 . The training weight device of claim 1 , further comprising an extension weight detachably coupled to both the weight subassembly and the housing.
11 . The training weight device of claim 10 , wherein the extension weight comprises threads at each end of the extension weight.
12 . The training weight device of claim 10 , wherein the extension weight is disposed between the weight subassembly and the housing.
13 . The training weight device of claim 12 , further comprising a plurality of extensions weights wherein each of the plurality of extension weights is disposed between the weight subassembly and the housing.
14 . The training weight device of claim 1 , the weight subassembly further comprising a closed end.
15 . The training weight device of claim 1 , the weight subassembly further comprising a plurality of internal weights wherein each the plurality of internal weights detachably couples to a hollow interior of the weight subassembly.
16 . The training weight device of claim 15 , the hollow interior of the weight subassembly further comprising internal threads.
17 . The training weight device of claim 16 , wherein each of the plurality of internal weights further comprises external threads configured to engage with the internal threads of the hollow interior.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
