Abstract
A battery system includes battery cells coupled to a battery management system (BMS), a power output port, a wireless communication module, a payment module. Engaging a locking module causes the power output port to decouple from the BMS. Disengaging the locking module causes the power output port to couple to the BMS. One or more processing devices are to determine health data and location data of the battery system based on data collected by the sensor module, and transmit the health data and the location data to an external battery management device via the wireless communication module. Responsive to determining the health data satisfies a health threshold, determine payment data using the payment module. Responsive to determining that the payment data satisfies a payment condition, disengage the locking module based on a locking scheme associated with the payment condition.

1 . A battery system comprising:
one or more battery cells coupled to a battery management system (BMS); a power output port; a wireless communication module; a payment module, wherein engaging a locking module causes the power output port to decouple from the BMS, and wherein disengaging the locking module causes the power output port to couple to the BMS; a sensor module; and one or more processing devices to:
determine health data of the battery system based on first data collected by the sensor module;
determine location data of the battery system based on second data collected by the sensor module;
transmit the health data and the location data to an external battery management device via the wireless communication module;
responsive to determining the health data satisfies a health threshold, determine payment data using the payment module; and
responsive to determining that the payment data satisfies a payment condition, disengage the locking module based on a locking scheme associated with the payment condition.
2 . The battery system of claim 1 , wherein the payment module comprises a subscriber identity module (SIM) card port, wherein a SIM card is removably coupled to the SIM card port, the one or more processing further to:
contact a third-party payment provider associated with the SIM card; determine whether a payment has been made to an account associated with the SIM card; and responsive to determining payment has been made to the account associated with the SIM card, indicate that the payment data satisfies the payment condition.
3 . The battery system of claim 2 , the one or more processing devices further to:
provide one or more payment instructions to satisfy the payment condition associated with the locking scheme to a user interface of the battery system; and responsive to determining the payment data satisfies the payment condition, provide an indication of the locking scheme to the user interface.
4 . The battery system of claim 1 , the one or more processing devices further to:
cause the battery system to connect to a user device via the wireless communication module; provide a payment option associated with the payment condition to a user interface of the user device; and responsive to determining the payment option has been selected, determine whether the payment data satisfies the payment condition.
5 . The battery system of claim 1 , the one or more processing devices further to:
provide an indication of the health data to a user interface of the battery system.
6 . The battery system of claim 1 , wherein the payment module is configured to directly communicate with a digital payment verification service.
7 . The battery system of claim 1 , wherein the sensor module comprises one or more of a global positioning system (GPS) module, an accelerometer module, or a gyroscope module.
8 . The battery system of claim 1 , the one or more processing devices further to:
responsive to determining the health data does not satisfy the health threshold, cause the locking module to engage.
9 . The battery system of claim 1 , the one or more processing devices further to:
responsive to determining the payment data does not satisfy the payment condition, cause the locking module to engage.
10 . A method comprising:
determining health data of a battery system, wherein the battery system comprises:
one or more battery cells coupled to a battery management system (BMS),
a power output port,
a wireless communication module,
a payment module, and
a locking module, wherein engaging the locking module causes the power output port to decouple from the BMS, and wherein disengaging the locking module causes the power output port to coupled to the BMS, and
wherein the health data of the battery system is based on first data collected by the sensor module;
determining location data of the battery system based on second data collected by the sensor module; transmitting the health data and the location data to an external battery management device via the wireless communication module; responsive to determining the health data satisfies a health threshold, determining payment data using the payment module; and responsive to determining that the payment data satisfies a payment condition, disengaging the locking module based on a locking scheme associated with the payment condition.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the payment module comprises a subscriber identity module (SIM) card port, wherein a SIM card is removably coupled to the SIM card port, the method further comprising:
contacting a third-party payment provider associated with the SIM card; determining whether a payment has been made to an account associated with the SIM card; and responsive to determining payment has been made to the account associated with the SIM card, indicating that the payment data satisfies the payment condition.
12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
providing one or more payment instructions to satisfy the payment condition associated with the locking scheme to a user interface of the battery system; and responsive to determining the payment data satisfies the payment condition, providing an indication of the locking scheme to the user interface.
13 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
causing the battery system to connect to a user device via the wireless communication module; providing a payment option associated with the payment condition to a user interface of the user device; and responsive to determining the payment option has been selected, determining whether the payment data satisfies the payment condition.
14 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
providing an indication of the health data to a user interface of the battery system.
15 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the payment module is configured to directly communicate with a digital payment verification service.
16 . The method of claim 10 wherein the sensor module comprises one or more of a global positioning system (GPS) module, an accelerometer module, or a gyroscope module.
17 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
responsive to determining the health data does not satisfy the health threshold, causing the locking module to engage.
