Abstract

The invention relates to an aluminum alloy having the following composition 0.03 wt.-%≤Si≤0.6 wt.-%, 0.15 wt.-%≤Fe≤0.8 wt.-%, 0.02 wt.-%≤Cu≤0.25 wt.-%, 0.20 wt.-%≤Mn≤1.4 wt %, 3.0 wt %≤Mg≤5.0 wt %, Cr≤0.1 wt %, Zn≤0.25 wt %, Ti≤0.10 wt %, impurities individually max. 0.05 wt %, in total max. 0.15 wt %, remainder aluminum. The invention further relates to an aluminum strip made of this aluminum alloy and to a method for producing such an aluminum strip and its use.

         2 . The aluminum alloy according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the Cr content is in the range 0.01-0.1 wt % and/or in that the Zn content is in the range 0.01-0.25 wt % and/or in that the Ti content is in the range 0.001-0.10 wt %.   
     
     
         3 . The aluminum alloy according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the Mg content is in the range 3.0-5.0 wt %, preferably in the range 3.5-5.0 wt %, more preferably in the range 4.0-5.0 wt %.   
     
     
         4 . The aluminum alloy according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the aluminium alloy has a Si content of more than 0.20 wt % and/or an Fe content of more than 0.35 wt % and/or a Cu content of more than 0.15 wt % and/or an Mn content of more than 0.5 wt %.   
     
     
         5 . An aluminum strip for producing can ends and/or can tabs from an aluminum alloy according to  claim 1 . 
     
     
         6 . The aluminum strip according to  claim 5 ,
 wherein the aluminium strip has an aluminium scrap recyclate content, in particular old scrap recyclate content, of at least 5 wt %, preferably at least 30 wt %.   
     
     
         7 . The aluminum strip according to  claim 5 ,
 characterized in that the aluminium strip has a coating, in particular a stove enamel coating.   
     
     
         8 . The aluminum strip according to  claim 5 ,
 wherein the aluminium strip has a thickness in the range 0.20-0.24 mm.   
     
     
         9 . The aluminum strip according to  claim 5 ,
 wherein the aluminium strip ( 182 ) has a yield strength Rp0.2 in the range 250-400 MPa.   
     
     
         10 . A method for producing an aluminum strip according to  claim 5 , comprising the steps:
 providing a melt of an aluminum alloy,   casting the melt into an ingot, preferably by DC casting,   homogenizing the ingot,   hot rolling the ingot to form a hot strip,   cold rolling the hot strip to form a cold strip of final thickness, optionally with one or more intermediate annealing steps, the final thickness preferably being in the range 0.20-0.24 mm,   optionally painting the cold strip, in particular stove enameling.   
     
     
         11 . The method according to  claim 10 , wherein the melt is provided in a proportion of at least 5 wt %, preferably at least 30 wt %, by melting old scrap. 
     
     
         12 . A method for producing can ends and/or can tabs, comprising the step of using the aluminum alloy according to  claim 1 .
