Abstract

A hair styling accessory for attachment to a blowing and heating device may include a cylindrical connector and a frustoconical-shaped mandrel, having a distal end and a proximal end, the distal end having a greater diameter than the proximal end, the proximal end being connected to the cylindrical connector. The mandrel has a plurality of air outlet ports. A frustoconical-shaped baffle is located within the mandrel. The cylindrical connector has an annular slot enabling the creation, when in use, of a protective layer of hot air around the mandrel.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An accessory ( 1 ) for styling hair, designed to be attached to a blowing and heating device, comprising:
 a cylindrical connector ( 2 ); a frustoconical mandrel ( 3 ) comprising a distal side ( 7 ) and a proximal side ( 8 ), the distal side ( 7 ) having a diameter greater than the proximal side ( 8 ), said proximal side ( 8 ) being connected to the cylindrical connector ( 2 ), said mandrel ( 3 ) comprising a plurality of air outlet orifices ( 13 ); and a frustoconical deflector ( 4 ) located inside the mandrel ( 3 ); said cylindrical connector ( 2 ) comprising an annular slot ( 6 ) allowing, in use, a protective hot air knife ( 10 ) to be generated around the mandrel ( 3 ).

2 . The accessory of claim 1 , wherein a surface of the frustoconical deflector ( 4 ) comprises obstacles ( 5 ) configured, in use, to radially deflect an internal hot air flow ( 9 ) through the air outlet orifices ( 13 ) of the mandrel ( 3 ).

3 . The accessory of claim 2 , wherein the obstacles on the surface of the frustoconical deflector ( 4 ) comprise shoulders ( 5 ) formed by a succession of interconnected cylinders ( 14 ) having increasing diameters.

         4 . The accessory of claim 3 , wherein a distance between the cylinders ( 14 ) is 8 to 14 mm.

         5 . The accessory of claim 3 , wherein a conicity of the deflector ( 4 ) is greater than that of the mandrel ( 3 ).

         6 . The accessory of claim 3 , wherein the shoulders ( 5 ) are perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the deflector ( 4 ).

         7 . The accessory of claim 1 , wherein the mandrel ( 3 ) is connected to the cylindrical connector ( 2 ) by a star-shaped attachment ( 16 ).

8 . The accessory of claim 1 , wherein a ratio of the diameter of the distal side ( 7 ) of the mandrel ( 4 ) to the diameter of the proximal side ( 8 ) of the mandrel is 1.1 to 2.

9 . The accessory of claim 1 , wherein the mandrel ( 3 ) comprises, at a base of the mandrel, an opening ( 15 ) configured to allow passage of the internal hot air flow ( 9 ) supplying the deflector ( 4 ), a ratio of a surface area of the opening ( 15 ) to a surface area of the annular slot ( 6 ) being 2 to 5.

10 . The accessory of claim 1 , wherein a ratio of a total surface area of all the air outlet orifices ( 13 ) to a surface area of the annular slot ( 6 ) is 15 to 25.

         11 . The accessory of claim 1 , wherein a height of the annular slot ( 6 ) is 0.5 to 2 mm.

         12 . The accessory of claim 1 , wherein the mandrel ( 3 ) comprises a conductive metal.

13 . The accessory of claim 12 , wherein the mandrel comprises aluminum or copper.

14 . The accessory of claim 12 , wherein the mandrel includes a ceramic layer.

         15 . A blower brush ( 11 ) comprising:
a handle; a blowing and heating device; and the accessory ( 1 ) of claim 1 attached to the handle of the blower brush.

         16 . The blower brush ( 11 ) according to claim 15 , further comprising a lock engaging with the lock ( 12 ) of the accessory ( 1 ) on the brush ( 11 ), such that the accessory is removable.
