Abstract

An aerosol provision system 300 for generating an aerosol, the system 300 comprising a 5 feedback portion 200 for providing feedback to a user of the aerosol provision system 300. The feedback portion 200 is configured to provide first feedback F1 whilst the aerosol provision system 300 is generating an aerosol in a first mode of operation M1, and provide second feedback F2 whilst the aerosol provision system 300 is generating an aerosol in a second mode of operation M2 which is different from the first mode of operation M1. The 10 feedback can thus be perceived by the user of the aerosol provision system 300 whilst the aerosol provision system 300 is generating the aerosol, such that the user can discern the mode of operation which is currently being employed.

1 . An aerosol provision system for generating an aerosol, the aerosol provision system comprising:
 a feedback portion for providing feedback to a user of the aerosol provision system, wherein the feedback portion is configured to provide first feedback whilst the aerosol provision system is generating an aerosol in a first mode of operation, and wherein the feedback portion is configured to not provide the first feedback whilst the aerosol provision system is generating an aerosol in a second mode of operation which is different from the first mode of operation.

An aerosol provision system according to  claim 1 , wherein the feedback portion is configured to provide second feedback whilst the aerosol provision system is generating an aerosol in the second mode of operation, wherein the second feedback is different from the first feedback. 
     
     
         3 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 2 , wherein one of the first and second feedback comprises a greater level of feedback than the level of feedback corresponding to the other of the first and second feedback. 
     
     
         4 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 1 , wherein the aerosol provision system comprises a display, and the feedback portion comprises the display.

         8 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the first mode of operation corresponds to the aerosol provision system providing the aerosol based on a parameter, from the aerosol provision system, comprising a first value; and   wherein the second mode of operation corresponds to the aerosol provision system providing the aerosol based on the parameter comprising a second value, wherein the second value is different from the first value.   
     
     
         9 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 8 , wherein the parameter is related to a predetermined property of the generated aerosol. 
     
     
         10 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 8 , wherein the parameter is configured to be related to the strength of a puff from the user on the aerosol provision system. 
     
     
         11 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 8 , wherein the parameter is configured to be related to the duration of a puff from the user on the aerosol provision system. 
     
     
         12 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the first mode of operation is configured to generate the aerosol, at a first rate, from the aerosol provision system; and   wherein the second mode of operation is configured to generate the aerosol, at a second rate, from the aerosol provision system;   wherein the first rate is different from the second rate.   
     
     
         13 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 1 , further comprising an aerosol generator for generating the aerosol;
 wherein the first mode of operation is configured to generate the aerosol based on a first amount of power delivered to the aerosol generator; and   wherein the second mode of operation is configured to generate the aerosol based on a second amount of power delivered to the aerosol generator;   wherein the first amount of power is different from the second amount of power.   
     
     
         14 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the first mode of operation is configured to generate aerosol from an aerosol-generating material comprising a first composition; and   wherein the second mode of operation is configured to generate aerosol from an aerosol-generating material comprising a second composition;   wherein the first composition is different from the second composition.   
     
     
         15 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the first mode of operation comprises the aerosol being generated at a first predetermined time; and   wherein the second mode of operation comprises the aerosol being generated at a second predetermined time;   wherein the first predetermined time is different from the second predetermined time.   
     
     
         16 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 1 , further comprising a sensor for generating sensor data, and a controller, wherein the controller is configured to:
 receive the sensor data from the sensor;   determine, using the sensor data, whether the aerosol provision system is generating an aerosol in either the first mode of operation or the second mode of operation; and   generate an output signal, for the feedback portion to provide the first feedback, in response to the controller determining that the aerosol provision system is generating an aerosol in the first mode of operation.

         18 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 16 , wherein the sensor comprises a motion detector, and the sensor data comprises acceleration data;
 wherein the controller is configured to determine whether the aerosol provision system is generating an aerosol in either the first mode of operation or the second mode of operation first mode of operation using the acceleration data.

         20 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 1 , wherein the first feedback comprises a suggestion to operate the aerosol provision system in a predetermined way. 
     
     
         21 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first mode of operation and the second mode of operation comprises an abnormal mode of operation in which aerosol is generated in a predetermined abnormal manner. 
     
     
         22 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 1 , wherein the aerosol provision system comprises an aerosol provision device for generating the aerosol, wherein the aerosol provision device comprises the feedback portion. 
     
     
         23 . An aerosol provision system according to  claim 1 , further comprising an electrical device which is operable to communicate with an aerosol provision device from the aerosol provision system, and wherein the electrical device comprises the feedback portion.
