Abstract

A method for producing an aluminum alloy having the following composition: 8.0 to 11.5% wt. of silicon, max. 2% wt. of iron, max. 0.1% wt. of copper, 0.3 to 0.8% wt. of manganese, 0.1 to 0.6% wt. of magnesium, max. 0.25% wt. of titanium, and aluminum as remainder and impurities, individually at most 0.1% wt., in total 0.4% wt., wherein at least 50% wt. of recycling material is added to the primary aluminum for forming the above composition.

         6 . A process for producing an aluminum alloy having the following composition:
 8.0% to 11.5% by weight of silicon,   max. 0.3% by weight of iron,   max. 0.1% by weight of copper,   0.3% to 0.8% by weight of manganese,   0.1% to 0.6% by weight of magnesium,   max. 0.25% by weight of titanium,   aluminum as the balance, and   impurities max. 0.1% by weight individually and 0.4% by weight in total,   wherein at least 50% by weight of recycled material is added to primary aluminum in order to form the above composition.

 wherein the composition is formed by adding individual alloy constituents and/or correspondingly selecting and sorting the recycled material.   
     
     
         8 . The process of  claim 6 ,
 wherein at least 70% by weight of recycled material is added.

 wherein the aluminum alloy has the following composition:   8.0% to 9.0% by weight of silicon,   0.25% to 0.3% by weight of iron,   0.05% to 0.1% by weight of copper,   0.3% to 0.4% by weight of manganese,   0.1% to 0.6% by weight of magnesium,   0.15% to 0.25% by weight of titanium,   aluminum as the balance, and   impurities max. 0.1% by weight individually and 0.4% by weight in total.   
     
     
         10 . A component made from an aluminum alloy produced by the process of  claim 6 .
