Abstract

A rebar tying machine may include a feeding unit configured to feed a wire; a guide unit including a first wire passage through which the wire passes, the guide unit configured to guide the wire around rebars; and a cutter configured to cut the wire. A leading end of the wire may be configured to pass through the feeding unit, the cutter, and an exit of the first wire passage in this order. At the start of a tying process for tying the rebars with the wire, the leading end of the wire may be positioned at a first position that is closer to the exit of the first wire passage than the cutter is.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A rebar tying machine comprising:
 a feeding unit configured to feed a wire;   a guide unit including a first wire passage through which the wire passes, the guide unit configured to guide the wire around rebars; and   a cutter configured to cut the wire,   wherein   a leading end of the wire is configured to pass through the feeding unit, the cutter, and an exit of the first wire passage in this order, and   at a start of a tying process for tying the rebars with the wire, the leading end of the wire is positioned at a first position that is closer to the exit of the first wire passage than the cutter is.   
     
     
         2 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 1 , wherein the guide unit includes:
 a first guide member including the first wire passage and configured to guide the wire; and   a second guide member spaced from the first guide member and configured to guide the wire after the wire has passed through the first wire passage, and   the first position is located in the first wire passage.   
     
     
         3 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 2 , wherein the first position is located at the exit of the first wire passage. 
     
     
         4 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 1 , wherein the feeding unit is configured to move the leading end of the wire to the first position after the tying process has been completed and the rebar tying machine has been separated away from the rebars. 
     
     
         5 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 4 , further comprising:
 a main body housing supporting the feeding unit and the guide unit,   a side plate mounted on the main body housing so as to be opened and closed, the side plate configured to contact the rebars during the tying process, and   a detection sensor configured to detect opening and closing of the side plate,   wherein   the side plate is configured to be opened and closed by the wire around the rebars when the rebar tying machine is separated away from the rebars after the tying process, and   the feeding unit is configured to move the leading end of the wire to the first position after the detection sensor has detected the opening and closing of the side plate.   
     
     
         6 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 1 , further comprising a trigger configured to be manipulated by a user,
 wherein the rebar tying machine is configured to execute the tying process in response to the trigger being manipulated while the feeding unit is moving the leading end of the wire to the first position.   
     
     
         7 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a trigger configured to be manipulated by a user; and   a pushable member configured to be pushed by the rebars,   wherein the rebar tying machine is configured to execute the tying process in response to the pushable member being pushed while the trigger is being manipulated.   
     
     
         8 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 1 , further comprising a pushable member configured to be pushed by the rebars,
 wherein the rebar tying machine is configured to execute the tying process in response to the pushable member being pushed.   
     
     
         9 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a reel including a bobbin and the wire wound on the bobbin; and   a grip configured to be grasped by a user,   wherein the reel is located forward of the grip and below the cutter.   
     
     
         10 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a reel including a bobbin and the wire wound on the bobbin, and   a twisting unit configured to twist the wire around the rebars,   wherein the reel is located rearward of the twisting unit.   
     
     
         11 . A rebar tying machine comprising:
 a feeding unit configured to feed a wire;   a guide unit including a first wire passage through which the wire passes, the guide unit configured to guide the wire around rebars;   a cutter configured to cut the wire;   a twisting unit configured to twist the wire around the rebars;   a trigger configured to be manipulated by a user; and   a control unit configured to execute an initialization process and a tying process, wherein in the initialization process, a leading end of the wire is positioned at a predetermined position, and in the tying process, the rebars are tied with the wire in response to the trigger being manipulated,   wherein   the leading end of the wire is configured to pass through the feeding unit, the cutter, and an exit of the first wire passage in this order, and   the control unit is configured to control the feeding unit to move the leading end of the wire to a first position at an end of the initialization process or after the tying process has been completed and the twisting unit has returned to its initial position, wherein the first position is closer to the exit of the first wire passage than the cutter is.   
     
     
         12 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 11 , wherein the control unit is configured to control the feeding unit to move the leading end of the wire to the first position after the tying process has been completed and the rebar tying machine has been separated away from the rebars. 
     
     
         13 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 12 , further comprising:
 a main body housing supporting the feeding unit and the guide unit,   a side plate mounted on the main body housing so as to be opened and closed, the side plate configured to contact the rebars during the tying process, and   a detection sensor configured to detect opening and closing of the side plate,   wherein   the side plate is configured to be opened and closed by the wire around the rebars when the rebar tying machine is separated away from the rebars after the tying process, and   the control unit is configured to control the feeding unit to move the leading end of the wire to the first position after the detection sensor has detected the opening and closing of the side plate.   
     
     
         14 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 11 , wherein the control unit is configured to execute the tying process in response to the trigger being manipulated while the feeding unit is moving the leading end of the wire to the first position. 
     
     
         15 . A rebar tying machine comprising:
 a feeding unit configured to feed a wire;   a guide unit configured to guide the wire around rebars;   a cutter configured to cut the wire;   a twisting unit configured to twist the wire around the rebars; and   a trigger configured to be manipulated by a user,   wherein   a time period from a start of tying of the rebars with the wire to a completion of the tying of the rebars is 0.48 seconds or less.   
     
     
         16 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 15 , wherein the time period from the start of tying of the rebars with the wire to the completion of the tying of the rebars is 0.40 seconds or less. 
     
     
         17 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 16 , wherein the time period from the start of tying of the rebars with the wire to the completion of the tying of the rebars is 0.35 seconds or less. 
     
     
         18 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 17 , wherein the time period from the start of tying of the rebars with the wire to the completion of the tying of the rebars is 0.30 seconds or less. 
     
     
         19 . A rebar tying machine comprising:
 a feeding unit configured to feed a wire;   a guide unit configured to guide the wire fed by the feeding unit such that the wire forms a loop that allows rebars to pass therethrough;   a cutter configured to cut the wire;   a twisting unit configured to twist the wire around the rebars; and   a trigger configured to be manipulated by a user,   wherein   the loop of the wire is formed before the trigger is manipulated, and   the wire around the rebars is twisted in response to the trigger being manipulated.   
     
     
         20 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 19 , wherein the twisting unit includes a holding unit configured to hold a leading end of the wire, and
 before the trigger is manipulated, the leading end of the wire is held by the holding unit.   
     
     
         21 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 19 , wherein the twisting unit includes a holding unit configured to hold a leading end of the wire, and
 before the trigger is manipulated, the leading end of the wire is not held by the holding unit.   
     
     
         22 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 19 , wherein the twisting unit includes a holding unit configured to hold the loop of the wire, and
 before the trigger is manipulated, the loop of the wire is held by the holding unit.   
     
     
         23 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 19 , wherein the twisting unit includes a holding unit configured to hold the loop of the wire, and
 before the trigger is manipulated, the loop of the wire is not held by the holding unit.   
     
     
         24 . The rebar tying machine according to  claim 3 , wherein the feeding unit is configured to move the leading end of the wire to the first position after the tying process has been completed and the rebar tying machine has been separated away from the rebars,
 the rebar tying machine further comprises:
 a main body housing supporting the feeding unit and the guide unit, 
 a side plate mounted on the main body housing so as to be opened and closed, the side plate configured to contact the rebars during the tying process, and 
 a detection sensor configured to detect opening and closing of the side plate, 
   the side plate is configured to be opened and closed by the wire around the rebars when the rebar tying machine is separated away from the rebars after the tying process,   the feeding unit is configured to move the leading end of the wire to the first position after the detection sensor has detected the opening and closing of the side plate,   the rebar tying machine further comprises:
 a trigger configured to be manipulated by a user; and 
 a pushable member configured to be pushed by the rebars, 
   the rebar tying machine is configured to execute the tying process in response to:
 i) the trigger being manipulated while the feeding unit is moving the leading end of the wire to the first position, 
 ii) the pushable member being pushed while the trigger is being manipulated, or 
 iii) the pushable member being pushed, 
   the rebar tying machine further comprises:
 a reel including a bobbin and the wire wound on the bobbin; and 
 a grip configured to be grasped by a user, and 
   the reel is located forward of the grip and below the cutter, or the reel is located rearward of the twisting unit.
