Abstract

A support member including a body including a front portion, and a pair of sleeves extending outwardly from the front portion, each sleeve of the pair of sleeves including an inner surface, an outer surface, and a compression member provided between the inner surface and the outer surface, each compression member provided on an outer side of a respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves relative to a front vertical centerline of the front portion of the body.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A support member comprising:
a body including a front portion; and a pair of sleeves extending outwardly from the front portion, each sleeve of the pair of sleeves including an inner surface, an outer surface, and a compression member provided between the inner surface and the outer surface, each compression member provided on an outer side of a respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves relative to a front vertical centerline of the front portion of the body.

2 . The support member of claim 1 , wherein each compression member extends along a respective tricep of a wearer when worn.

3 . The support member of claim 1 , wherein each compression member extends from a free end of a respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves toward an edge of the respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves extending from the front portion of the body.

4 . The support member of claim 3 , wherein each compression member extends from the free end of the respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves past the edge of the respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves onto the front portion of the body.

5 . The support member of claim 1 , wherein each compression member is rectangular in shape.

6 . The support member of claim 1 , wherein:
each sleeve of the pair of sleeves has a sleeve elasticity; and each compression member has a compression member elasticity less than the sleeve elasticity.

7 . The support member of claim 6 , wherein the body has a body elasticity and the sleeve elasticity is greater than the body elasticity.

8 . The support member of claim 1 , wherein each compression member is formed from neoprene, rubber, cotton, foam, or polyester.

9 . The support member of claim 3 , wherein opposite edges of the inner surface of a respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves are secured to the outer surface of the respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves to define a pocket in which the compression member is positioned.

10 . The support sleeve of claim 9 , wherein the free end remains open to the pocket.

11 . The support member of claim 1 , further comprising:
a restriction panel provided on the front portion between the pair of sleeves and extending from a top edge of the front portion toward a bottom edge of the front portion; a protective pad positioned at the front portion of the body, the protective pad having a width that is greater than a width of the restriction panel, wherein the compression members are provided on the outer side of the respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves opposite an inner side of the respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves, the inner side of the respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves facing the restriction panel.

         12 . A support member comprising:
a body including a front portion; and a pair of sleeves extending outwardly from the front portion, each sleeve of the pair of sleeves including an inner surface, an outer surface, and a compression member provided between the inner surface and the outer surface, wherein each compression member extends along a respective tricep of a wearer when worn.

13 . The support member of claim 12 , wherein:
the outer surface of each sleeve of the pair of sleeves defines an inner side facing a front vertical centerline of the front portion of the body and an outer side opposite the inner side; and each compression member is provided on the outer side of a respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves.

14 . The support member of claim 12 , wherein each compression member extends from a free end of a respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves toward an edge of the respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves extending from the front portion of the body.

15 . The support member of claim 14 , wherein each compression member extends from the free end of the respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves past the edge of the respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves onto the front portion of the body.

16 . The support member of claim 12 , wherein opposite edges of the inner surface of a respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves are secured to the outer surface of the respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves to define a pocket in which the compression member is positioned.

17 . The support member of claim 12 , wherein:
each sleeve of the pair of sleeves has a sleeve elasticity; and each compression member has a compression member elasticity less than the sleeve elasticity.

18 . The support member of claim 12 , wherein each compression member is formed from neoprene, rubber, cotton, foam, or polyester.

19 . A method of manufacturing a support member, the method comprising:
forming a body having a front portion; and coupling a pair of sleeves to the front portion of the body, each sleeve of the pair of sleeves including a compression member provided in an outer side of a respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves between an inner surface and an outer surface of the respective sleeve of the pair of sleeves.

20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein each compression member extends along a respective tricep of a wearer when worn.
