Abstract

A capsule releases an active material when exposed to an alternating magnetic field, and includes a core including the active material and a shell surrounding the core, and at least one of the core and the shell includes at least one susceptor particle that is heated when exposed to the alternating magnetic field.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A capsule for an aerosol-generating article, wherein the capsule releases an active material when exposed to an alternating magnetic field, and comprises:
a core including the active material; and a shell surrounding the core, wherein at least one of the core and the shell includes at least one susceptor particle that is heated by exposure to the alternating magnetic field.

2 . The capsule of claim 1 , wherein the active material includes at least one selected from a group including nicotine, caffeine, cannabinoids, aerosol-generating materials, and flavoring materials.

3 . The capsule of claim 1 , wherein the shell includes a lipid bilayer.

4 . The capsule of claim 1 , wherein at least part of a surface of the susceptor particle is coated with at least one selected from a group including lipids, oleic acid, starch, and silica.

5 . The capsule of claim 1 , wherein the capsule has a diameter of about 1 μm to about 50 μm.

6 . The capsule of claim 1 , wherein the susceptor particle has a diameter of about 1 nm to about 100 nm.

         7 . The capsule of claim 1 , wherein
the shell includes a plurality of the susceptor particle, and the shell includes a membrane material in which the plurality of susceptor particles are dispersed.

8 . The capsule of claim 7 , wherein the membrane material includes at least one selected from a group including carbon nanotubes, silica, aluminum hydroxide, titanium dioxide, and calcium carbonate.

9 . The capsule of claim 7 , wherein a sum of weights of the plurality of susceptor particles is about 5 wt % to about 10 wt % of a total weight of the membrane material.

10 . The capsule of claim 1 , wherein a ratio of a weight of the active material to a weight of the shell is about 7:3 to about 4:6.

11 . The capsule of claim 1 , wherein the shell has a thickness of about 100 nm to about 500 nm.

         12 . An aerosol-generating article comprising:
the capsule of claim 1 ; and an aerosol-generating material that generates an aerosol when heated.

         13 . The aerosol-generating article of claim 12 , wherein
the aerosol-generating article includes a plurality of the capsule, and a difference between a diameter of each capsule and an average diameter of the plurality of capsules is about −10% to about 10% from the average diameter of the plurality of capsules.

         14 . The aerosol-generating article of claim 12 , further comprising:
an aerosol-generating rod including the aerosol-generating material and the capsule; and a filter rod arranged downstream of the aerosol-generating rod.

         15 . An aerosol-generating system comprising:
an aerosol-generating article; and an aerosol-generating device including an accommodation space into which an aerosol-generating article is inserted, the aerosol-generating device being configured to apply an alternating magnetic field to the accommodation space.
