Ice maker and method for controlling ice maker
Abstract
An ice maker includes: an upper tray defining an upper chamber that is a portion of an ice chamber, where an upper opening is provided in an upper side of the upper tray; a lower tray defining a lower chamber that is another portion of the ice chamber; a lower support supporting the lower tray and provided with a lower heater; and a control unit configured to operate the lower heater in an ice making process, where the control unit variably controls an output of the lower heater so that bubbles included in water in the ice chamber are gathered in a lowermost section in the ice making process.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An ice maker comprising:
a plurality of first chambers ( 152 ) configured to form one parts of each of a plurality of ice chambers ( 111 ); a plurality second chambers ( 252 ) configured to form the other parts of each of the plurality of ice chambers ( 111 ); an ice-making heater ( 296 ) configured to supply heat to lower parts of the plurality of ice chambers ( 111 ) by contact with chambers walls ( 153 , 252 d ) defining the plurality of ice chambers ( 111 ); an ice-separating heater ( 148 ) configured to supply heat to the plurality of ice chambers ( 111 ), wherein at least a portion of the ice-separating heater ( 148 ) is disposed higher than the ice-making heater ( 296 ); a water supply ( 190 ) configured to supply water to the plurality of ice chambers ( 111 ) through an opening ( 154 ) provided above the plurality of ice chambers ( 111 ); a temperature sensor ( 500 ) configured to sense temperatures of the plurality of ice chambers ( 111 ); and a controller 700 configured to operate the ice-making heater ( 296 ) and the ice-separating heater ( 148 ) in an ice-making process and an ice-separating process, wherein at least one of the distances between each of the plurality of ice chambers ( 110 ) and the temperature sensors ( 500 ) are different from the other, and wherein in the ice-making process, the controller ( 700 ) is configured to turn on the ice-making heater ( 296 ) when the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor ( 500 ) after water supply to the plurality of ice chambers ( 111 ) satisfies an ON-condition of the ice-making heater ( 296 ), and to turn on the ice-separating heater ( 148 ) to start the ice-separating process in a predetermined time period after ending the operation of the ice-making heater ( 296 ) when the ice-making process is complete.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
