Abstract

A food container includes a body and a lid assembly. The lid assembly includes a rotating part, a base part, and at least one slide part. The rotating part defines a center axis and includes at least one protrusion offset from the center axis. The base part is coupled to the rotating part and defines a curved aperture. The at least one protrusion of the rotating part extends through the base part via the curved aperture. The least one slide part is coupled to the base part and includes a slide aperture. The protrusion of the rotating part extends into the slide aperture and selectively engages with the slide part. A movement of the rotating part is configured to cause a movement of the slide part.

Claims

the protrusion of the rotating part extending into the slide aperture and selectively engaging with the slide part, wherein a movement of the rotating part is configured to cause a movement of the slide part.

2 . The food container of claim 1 , wherein the rotating part rotates with respect to the base part, and the at least one slide part translates with respect to the base part substantially perpendicular to the center axis of the rotating part.

3 . The food container of claim 1 , wherein the lid assembly includes a sealing part defining a cavity, and at least a portion of the at least one slide part, the base part, and the rotating part are received within the cavity.

4 . The food container of claim 3 , wherein the body includes one or more side wall surrounding an interior space, wherein the at least one slide part presses the sealing part into the body when the at least one slide part translates substantially perpendicular to the center axis of the rotating part.

5 . The food container of claim 1 , wherein the rotating part rotates around the center axis, and the at least one slide part translates radially inwardly and radially outwardly with respect to the center axis.

6 . The food container of claim 1 , wherein the base part defines a cavity that receives the rotating part.

7 . The food container of claim 1 , wherein the at least one slide part includes a first slide part and a second slide part which simultaneously translate in opposite directions.

8 . The food container of claim 1 , wherein the at least one protrusion is at least one first protrusion, and the base part includes at least one second protrusion which restricts translation of the at least one slide part to only a substantially perpendicular direction to the center axis of the rotating part.

9 . The food container of claim 1 , wherein the at least one protrusion is at least one first protrusion, and the base part includes a second protrusion extending along the center axis, the second protrusion configured to couple to the rotating part.

10 . The food container of claim 9 , wherein the rotating part includes a third protrusion, the third protrusion extending through at least a portion of the second protrusion.

11 . The food container of claim 1 , wherein the rotating part defines a plurality of indentations spaced equidistant from the center axis.

12 . The food container of claim 1 , wherein the lid assembly has a first length and a second length that are different.

13 . The food container of claim 1 , wherein the base part is positioned between the rotating part and the at least one slide part in an axial direction of the center axis.

14 . The food container of claim 13 , wherein the at least one slide part includes a first slide part and a second slide part and rotation of the rotating part causes the first slide part and the second slide part to translate in opposite directions.

         15 . A food container comprising:
a body; and a lid assembly including:
a rotating part configured to rotate around a center axis and including a plurality of protrusions,
a base part defining a plurality of curved apertures, each protrusion of the plurality of protrusions adapted to selectively extend through the base part via a curved aperture of the plurality of curved apertures,
a first slide part including a first slide aperture, and
a second slide part including a second slide aperture,
wherein at least one of the plurality of protrusions extend into each of the first slide aperture and the second slide aperture, and rotation of the rotating part causes the first slide part and the second slide part to translate.

16 . The food container of claim 15 , further comprising a sealing part located radially outward from the first slide part and the second slide part with respect to the center axis.

17 . The food container of claim 15 , wherein the first slide part and the second slide part translate away from each other in a direction substantially perpendicular to the center axis of the rotating part to seal an interior space of the body, and the first slide part and the second slide part translate toward each other to unseal the interior space.

18 . The food container of claim 15 , wherein the base part includes second protrusions extending within each of the first slide part and the second slide part to restrict translation of the first slide part and the second slide part to only a direction substantially perpendicular to the center axis of the rotating part.

19 . A lid assembly for a food container, the lid assembly comprising:
a base part defining at least one aperture; a rotating part coupled to the base part and configured to rotate around a center axis with respect to the base part, the rotating part including a protrusion extending from the rotating part through the at least one aperture of the base part, the at least one protrusion being offset from the center axis; and at least one slide part coupled to the base part and the protrusion of the rotating part, the protrusion of the rotating part to engage the slide part to cause the slide part to translate substantially perpendicular to the center axis of the rotating part with a rotation of the rotating part.

20 . The lid assembly of claim 19 , wherein the protrusion is a rotating part protrusion, and the base part includes at least one base part protrusion that extends within the at least one slide part to restrict translation of the at least one slide part to translation in a substantially perpendicular direction to the center axis of the rotating part during the rotation of the rotating part.
