Dumbbell Extension Weight Sleeve Device

Abstract

A dumbbell extension weight sleeve device is provided. The device is comprised of a body that attaches to the head of a dumbbell or similar weight apparatus. In one embodiment, the body is made of a rigid material that snap fits around the dumbbell head, while in another embodiment, it is made from flexible materials like fabric or mesh and attaches using fasteners such as buckles, clips, or magnets. The body also comprises at least one pocket that holds a weight, allowing the user to incrementally increase the dumbbell's overall weight. The weights may vary in type and size and can be either fixed or removable, with the pockets optionally equipped with fasteners to secure the weights.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A dumbbell extension weight sleeve device comprising:
 a body configured to attach to the head of a dumbbell;   a pocket disposed on the body.   
     
     
         2 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 1 , wherein the body is comprised of a first fastener and a second fastener. 
     
     
         3 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 2 , wherein the first fastener and the second fastener are comprised of a pair of reciprocating fasteners. 
     
     
         4 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 3 , wherein the first fastener is comprised of a male fastener, a female fastener, a hook fastener, a loop fastener, a buckle fastener, a clip fastener, a tie fastener, a magnet fastener, or an elastic fastener. 
     
     
         5 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 3 , wherein the second fastener is comprised of a male fastener, a female fastener, a hook fastener, a loop fastener, a buckle fastener, a clip fastener, a tie fastener, a magnet fastener, or an elastic fastener. 
     
     
         6 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 1 , wherein the body is comprised of a fabric material. 
     
     
         7 . A dumbbell extension weight sleeve device comprising:
 a body configured to attach to the head of a dumbbell;   a pocket disposed on the body; and   a weight positioned within the pocket.   
     
     
         8 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 7 , wherein the pocket is comprised of a fastener. 
     
     
         9 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 8 , wherein the fastener is comprised of a zipper, a snap button, a hook and loop fastener, a button and opening fastener, or a magnet fastener. 
     
     
         10 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 7 , wherein the weight is comprised of a metal weight. 
     
     
         11 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 7 , wherein the weight is comprised of a plastic weight. 
     
     
         12 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 7 , wherein the weight is comprised of a water-filled weight. 
     
     
         13 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 7 , comprised of an indicia. 
     
     
         14 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 7 , wherein the weight is comprised of a sand-filled weight. 
     
     
         15 . The dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 7 , wherein the body is comprised of a rubber material. 
     
     
         16 . A method of using a dumbbell extension weight sleeve device, the method comprising:
 providing a dumbbell extension weight sleeve device comprised of a body comprised of a pocket and a weight;   securing the body to a dumbbell head of a dumbbell using a first fastener of the dumbbell extension weight sleeve device;   inserting the weight into the pocket; and   and performing an exercise with the dumbbell.   
     
     
         17 . The method of using a dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 16 , wherein the weight is comprised of a metal weight. 
     
     
         18 . The method of using a dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 16 , wherein the weight is comprised of a substance-filled weight. 
     
     
         19 . The method of using a dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 16 , wherein the dumbbell extension weight sleeve device is comprised of a second fastener. 
     
     
         20 . The method of using a dumbbell extension weight sleeve device of  claim 19 , wherein the second fastener and the first fastener are comprised of a pair of reciprocating fasteners.
